Non-notable individual lacking GHits and GNEWS of substance. Article is supported by a single secondary source of substance. Appears to fail WP:BIO. ttonyb (talk) 21:22, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep. As the founder of Red Hot he passes WP:CREATIVE #3 - The person has created, or played a major role in co-creating, a significant or well-known work, or collective body of work, that has been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film, or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews. Over the 20 year lifetime he is regularly quoted alongside discussion of the albums, as witnessed by this Google book search. A lot of the book sources are too "snippety", but possible sources include Alt. culture: an a-to-z guide to the '90s: underground, online, and over-the-counter & The art of AIDS. His co-founding of Funny Garbage in 1996 was, according to Graphic design time line: a century of design milestones a graphic art milestone. Per WP:ACADEMIC he could pass the simple test of the academic is more notable than the average college instructor/professor for his achievements, but that's a weaker argument to be honest. There doesn't seem to be a selection of properly WP:RS-compliant sources to pass through WP:GNG, but there are plenty of sources in many different places to verify each bit of information. - Weak delete. Just on the borderline for WP:AUTHOR. I wouldn't cry hard if it were merge/redirected to Red Hot Organization; I don't see much useful in the way of secondary sources independent of his role at RHO. Being "quoted" in my mind is insufficient to qualify under WP:BIO; articles need to be about you, rather than simply mentioning you, and searches for Carlin that mention biographical details like his law firm turn up empty. If kept article needs a renaming and a rewriting. THF (talk) 17:21, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
