*Comment - I have no clue what counts as notability in names. I did find passing mentions in several books (1, 2, 3), etymological dictionaries mostly. JTdale ^Talk 11:28, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Keep as a surname page. There are three people who are sufficiently notable, as well as several others of questionable suitability, one or more of whom ~~may~~ will show up for Afd. I've removed some claims, e.g. no Jacox is listed as a signer of the Declaration of Independence,[1] nor can I find anything that says William Jacox was called "The Father of the Navy". Also, rename as Jacox and add a hatnote for Jacox, West Virginia and possibly Jacox Elementary School in the Norfolk Public Schools. Clarityfiend (talk) 12:01, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Keep - This is actually better than the majority of "surname" articles, having some cited background information. Clarityfiend's editing has cut out the dross. Re: the nominator's concerns, it seems to be widely accepted that "surname" pages like this are allowable, providing any information is cited and any entries in the name list link to a valid article.
