The result was redirect to Irish language. Consensus is that this does not warrant a standalone article per WP:DICDEF. Sandstein 06:01, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- I have no problem with the article deleted if it is found unfit, via our guidelines. All I hoped for was that other editors more erudite than I would find better sources than I could accrue. It deserves it. Fergananim (talk) 18:50, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect and use categories instead where relevant: rather than build an incomplete list, it would be appropriate to set up more categories within Category:Irish-language occupations, esp. for actors, given the precedents in Category:Yiddish-language occupations (although just one for actors would probably be enough). The page for the word itself should redirect to Irish language and be explained there. - Fayenatic (talk) 20:16, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Merge to Irish language (though without the list of famous speakers). I see no need to discuss Irish speakers separately from discussion of the language. As Fayenatic suggests, the function of the list can be accomplished with categories. Cnilep (talk) 02:02, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete The title is a Gaelic word not an English one and so doesn't belong in the English language wikipedia. We have plenty of existing articles about the topic such as status of the Irish language and don't need this stub too. Warden (talk) 09:47, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Irish language. It is an Irish word but used in English in Ireland. Snappy (talk) 18:56, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Seems more appropriate for a category rather than an article? BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 23:46, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- No, its not suitable for a category either, such categories have been created and deleted twice before, here and here Snappy (talk) 20:40, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Good points made in those discussions. Delete. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 23:36, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

- Comment. Parts of this might be worth keeping as a List of Irish speakers. - Smerdis of Tlön - killing the human spirit since 2003! 15:20, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Irish language per Snappy, this word is used widely in Hiberno-English, it makes sense that it be redirected. Quasihuman | Talk 16:25, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
