Wikipedia:Article Rescue Squadron – Rescue list

ARS Code of Conduct
  • Note that this wikiproject is only intended to improve the encyclopedia. The project is not about casting votes or vote-stacking. Be sure to follow the guideline on canvassing. This means, in part, that you should use Template:Rescue list on the deletion discussion page when you list the discussion here.
  • Focus on improving content. For example, when working on an article listed for rescue, try to qualify topic notability by adding reliable-source references with significant coverage of the topic. Edit the content to address specific concerns raised in the AfD discussion.
  • Show the light. If you comment in an AfD discussion, try to describe points in the nomination that have been corrected. Note any remaining deficiencies (e.g. lack of organization, structural problems, lack of balance, etc.). Base comments upon Wikipedia's deletion policy. If an article has been rewritten, you may place a comment in the AfD as a courtesy to assist the closing admin in determining which article version others were referring to.
For more information about article rescue, please refer to ARS Tips to help rescue articles and ARS Rescue guide

This is a list and discussion of Wikipedia content for rescue consideration. When posting here, please be sure to:

  • First familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's guidelines for topic notability and identifying reliable sources, as well as the prohibition on inappropriate canvassing
  • Include a specific rationale why the article/content should be retained on Wikipedia, and any ideas to improve the content. Please ensure that your comment here is neutrally worded. (You can also !vote to delete an article at its deletion discussion because you think it is untenable in its present state, and still list it here in the hope that another editor will find a way to improve it and save it.)
  • You should disclose in a deletion discussion that a post has been made at the rescue list.
  • Sign posts with four tildes ~~~~.
  • Place the {{subst:rescue list|~~~~}} template in Articles for deletion discussions, to notify editors about the listing here. The tag can be placed below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

The following templates can be used for articles listed here:

  • *{{Find sources|Article name}} - Adds source search options
  • *{{lagafd|Article name}} - Adds relevant links
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (2nd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated twice
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (3rd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated 3 times
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (Nth nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated N ≥ 4 times

  • WP:RSL
  • WP:RESCUELIST

List of Commodore 16 games

I need help finding sourcing. I found one physical museum that list 181 of them. Need help finding other physical museums that have physical copies of these video games in their collection. If you feel like clicking on an empty box in the reference column to add a reference to something from time to time, every little bit helps. Dream Focus 07:17, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Alex Lozupone

I hope this was the right place, I was looking through AFDs. Alex Lozupone was nominated and now I am overly confused at the discussion. I think from how I understand the policies it does pass as I discussed at the discussion but I need to step away, but I don’t want everyone else’s efforts to go away because I don’t understand policy. This musicians is not super notable but seems somehow to have some sources, maybe it is not enough, maybe there are some more. I created this article before knowing that he also does music. I don’t care to be involved in the harsh discussion anymore where people quickly vote without reading. Thank you. Maybe I am wrong, but the article was around a long time, and the user who nominated it and some other I created has stopped editing so it is confusing. ThreeBootsInABucket (talk)

Jason Perlow was nominated for deletion. He is the co-founder of eGullet, an important Internet forum in the 2000s for the food world. I think there is enough out there for him to meet GNG. Any help with sourcing would be appreciated. Thriley (talk) 05:19, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Brian Merchant was nominated for deletion. I created the article as a stub for expansion later. I believe he meets GNG/Author. Any help with expansion would be appreciated! Thriley (talk) 22:36, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The five people going there said Keep, listing reasons, and the nominator then closed it as keep. Dream Focus 03:49, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Biafra Liberation Army (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs|google) AfD discussion

I managed to find multiple RS to improve the article. The military organization per se was established in 2023. I suggest that the article be sorted as Stub instead of of it being redirected to Simon Ekpa. It's a notable Article under "Military and warfare" category of Wikipedia. Many existing nations today had their Liberation Armies prior to independence according to historical trends. It has RS which will be updated by me and other editors. The subject is a developing one and hope it expands as time goes on. I wish to be closely monitored and directed as I improve the article. --Fugabus (talk) 11:23, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • International Association for the Study of Dreams (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs|google) AfD discussion

Hoping that editors can root-out some reliable sources for this association that is notable in the real world, but not as yet at Wikipedia. Thanks, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 18:56, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that references 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 (Kramer, Gervasi, Love, Bogzaran, Stuever, Henig, and Auchincloss) now meet the Golden Rule. The original name Association for the Study of Dreams (ASD) yielded three lengthy pieces from The Washington Post. Still looking. Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 09:49, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:Esowteric: These are books. 239 books. Not all are reliable and/or 'significant coverage', but many are. It's just like Google Books, you can search inside, and view limited numbers of pages. You can adjust which page number using the URL. If you don't have a free account recommend signing up. If you need help accessing a book let me know as I have full access to every book. You should be able to find numerous good quality sources if you spend 30 minutes or so going through them. -- GreenC 17:15, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. I have an IA account, but hadn't thought of querying in this fashion. Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 17:18, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Google Book Search only works on the pages it makes available for free preview, so you can't actually search the entire book, only a small portion of it. Archive.org is the real deal, you can search the entire book. That plus the millions of books often gets better results than Google. The archive allows up to 10 page views per day, first come first serve, so whatever pages were viewed in the past 24 hours (by anyone) are the only pages available for viewing. Thus use search first to identify candidate pages before opening to that page and locking in one of the 10 pages. -- GreenC 18:39, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Got 1 delete vote; provided new citations (listed above); got 1 keep vote for hopefully passing WP:GNG. AfD has now been relisted. I'm hoping that someone will be able to verify the citations, especially the three from The Washingon Post. The nominator tells me he can't do that as they're behind the WP paywall. Then the "notability" template on the article can maybe be changed by an uninvolved editor to "refimprove" (?) Thanks, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 17:48, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Relisted again, got 2 more keeps. Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 13:29, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Final update: "The result was keep. I see a consensus to Keep this article, especially after work was done on the article since its nomination." Not sure how to close this entry here. Many thanks, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 08:18, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
