Visa policy of Colombia

Visitors to Colombia must obtain a visa from one of the Colombian diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries.

Visa exemption

Holders of passports of the following jurisdictions do not require visa to enter Colombia for a maximum stay of 90 days (unless otherwise noted):[1][2][3]

Notes:
ID - May also enter using an ID card.
1 - The maximum period of stay is up to 1 year.
2 — Canadian citizens must pay an entry fee of 256,000 Colombian Pesos (equivalent to CAD$85) upon arrival. Passengers older than 79 years or younger than 14 years are exempt.[6]

Citizens of Nicaragua who are residents of North Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region and South Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region may enter Colombia without a visa.[24]

  • Colombia also requires citizens of Cuba and holders of passports issued by Palestine to apply for a transit visa before transiting through the country.[25]
  • Visitors over the age of 6 arriving at San Andrés and Leticia must purchase tourist cards on arrival at a cost of 105,000 pesos and 30,000 pesos.[26]
  • Holders of diplomatic or official/service passports of Belarus, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lebanon, Myanmar (90 days), Mongolia (90 days), Morocco (90 days), Oman, Philippines, Singapore (90 days), Thailand (90 days), Ukraine (90 days) and Vietnam (90 days) and holders of official passports of Cuba do not require a visa for a maximum stay of 30 days (unless otherwise stated).[26]
  • Visa-free agreement for holders of diplomatic and service passports was signed with Kazakhstan in December 2019, and it is yet to be ratified.[27]

Substitute visa

Holders of permanent resident card issued by member nations of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Mexico and Peru); of any nationality, are granted visa-free access for tourism up to 180 days. [28]

Holders of passports issued by the following countries or territories are granted visa-free access for a maximum of 90 days (unless otherwise noted) if they hold visas or residence permits issued by the United States or a Schengen Area country:[26][29]

The visa exemption also applies to Green Card holders, but does not apply to holders of C1 visas issued by the U.S. Holders of U.S. or Schengen visas must ensure their visa is valid for at least 180 days from their arrival date.[26]
