You should make a specific suggestion on the article talk page - ie "I think we should change X to Y" - giving reasons and reliable sources. Try to keep the reasoning brief, and based on policy. Then, wait for others to either support or oppose the change - give it some time. You might wish to contact other editors of the article and other people who have chatted previously on the talk page, or you could put messages on the talk page of associated project groups - but do so in a neutral manner, just asking people to give their opinions on the specific request.
After some time, if there is a clear consensus to make the edit, you can do so and refer to the consensus.
So - whilst some editors may have expressed concerns about neutrality, that is not a direct, clear consensus to make specific changes.  Chzz  ►  18:42, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
