Information icon Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page Шталаг XVIII-D to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It has been listed at Pages needing translation into English, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. Schminnte (talk contribs) 14:37, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The full English version is already created and accepted (see here: Stalag XVIII-D). I am trying to make the same Wikipedia page about Stalag XVIII-D in Russian language. Any suggestions so I won't lose all the work and time I have already put into it? Thesecondworldwar3 (talk) 16:14, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, we have a special procedure for this. I'll try work this out so it can get to the Russian Wikipedia. All the best, Schminnte (talk contribs) 16:22, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. Apparently, I shouldn't be inserting Russian language content through the English Wikipedia system. When the entry in the Russian language will also be confirmed, I will add the same content as it is already in Slovenian and English language. With pictures and complete citation apparatus (bibliographical notes/references). Please notify me. Thesecondworldwar3 (talk) 16:42, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The page was deleted but per this IP editor's request I have restored the article's content as a user subpage within your user space, which can be found at User:Thesecondworldwar3/Шталаг XVIII-D. Hope this helps. - Aoidh (talk) 12:54, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry, but this isn't helpful since I can't find the Russian entry for Stalag XVIII-D anywhere in Wikipedia, Google or elsewhere. Can please somebody transfer partly already written Russian content into Russian Wikipedia so that users will be able to change between different languages? I have already created Slovenian and English versions. Slovene version: https://sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalag_XVIII-D English version: Stalag XVIII-D Thesecondworldwar3 (talk) 17:09, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure what you mean by saying that you "can't find the Russian entry", but, as Aoidh said above, the page you created is at User:Thesecondworldwar3/Шталаг XVIII-D. Is that what you wanted? JBW (talk) 21:04, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, but I am not sure other people can look and see this page. When I type "Шталаг XVIII-D" for Wikipedia article into Wikipedia or Google, there are no possible results. Why not? Thesecondworldwar3 (talk) 07:25, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's because it is not a Wikipedia article, but a user space page. It has just been put there for a short time so that you can copy the text and post it as an article on Russian Wikipedia. It isn't meant to stay there on English Wikipedia. JBW (talk) 10:07, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the clarification. I will do that in the next few days. Thesecondworldwar3 (talk) 10:58, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can now delete the User:Thesecondworldwar3/Шталаг XVIII-D. It was just transferred to an article on Russian Wikipedia. Thesecondworldwar3 (talk) 10:21, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I see it at ru::Шталаг XVIII-D. Thanks for letting me know. JBW (talk) 20:18, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
