Hi! Please feel free to say something here.

Welcome

Hi, I would add {{welcome}} but you seem to already know the rules, but, well

Welcome!

Hello, Splitpeasoup, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. As the {{copyedit}} template states, it concerns issues such as tone as well as syntax; it's better than {{NPOV}} in this kind of case because the problem doesn't concern what is said so much as how it's said. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:03, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Warm thanks for your efforts on the page Amrit Sanskar. I must ask you to copyedit the article for me as well. Thanks again. --Andy123 16:43, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your efforts. I appreciate them. Btw, are you an Indian? --Andy123 23:44, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was quite confident that you would not be finding any more mistakes in the article. Guess I was wrong. I think I will have to tone down my godlike level of English a bit ;). I am from Ahmedabad. What about you? --Andy123 23:53, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I must tell you that I am not a sikh but a Rajput of the Bhati clan. People tend to mistake me for a sikh after they notice my surname. I believe that the Bhati and the Bhatti clan are completely different tribes, but they share a common page on Wikipedia. Any available solutions for that? --Andy123 23:55, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to ask you about the POV dispute between you and an anonymous user on this article. Why exactly did you feel his revisions did not constitute a neutral POV? Please discuss this on the talk page. -- NClark128 23:10, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jane Hawking

She's almost certainly notable, but it will take a little more info to show it. Surely there are some articles written about her and her book. DGG (talk) 09:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Splitpeasoup! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 939 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Syed Mustafa Siraj - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

February 2010

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Bangalore appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. This has been discussed exhaustively on the talk page several times in the past and the present version has been arrived at by consensus. Also, comments must be posted on the talk page and not the article page. SBC-YPR (talk) 05:27, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Bangalore

Please go through the talk archives (which are linked from the talk page) - past discussions are stored there, the most recent one on the subject of the name-change happening less than a month ago. The vandalism flag turned up because I use a semi-automated script while patrolling pages, which automatically marks any unconstructive edit as vandalism (even though the message left on your talk page does not specifically mention the edit to be vandalism). The unconstructive edit in question here was your leaving comments on the article page (when the talk page is specifically meant for that purpose). The NPOV reminder was added merely to inform you that there was already an established consensus on the issue and changes ought not to be made in the absence of a discussion. There was absolutely no imputation of bad faith intended. Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 14:59, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 3

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Leschi, Seattle, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Battle of Seattle (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

OER inquiry

Hi Splitpeasoup, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Thanks for your support! - Sara FB (talk) 20:49, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Welker White

Hello Splitpeasoup,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Welker White for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Anurag Arora

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Anurag Arora requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anurag Arora. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.  // Timothy :: talk  09:39, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
