Y’know, to be honest… I came to this site to do the exact things you're doing now (e.g. write new dinosaur pages, update the List of dinosaur genera and Category:lists of dinosaurs by continent pages), and since you're so much faster and better than me, I feel like I've lost my fun and purpose on Wikipedia. First, I do appreciate you honestly sharing your thoughts. And I hope you understand that it has never been my intention to minimize you or your contributions. It gets tricky when multiple enthusiastic people have similar interests (I'm worried I've done something similar with my size charts...). I recognize that sometimes I can get very excited about new research, then trying to share that on Wikipedia. I don't plan to entirely stop writing pages for new dinosaurs, but it might be good if I tried to direct my attention and efforts to other topics that interest me and projects I want to finish. Maybe we can find ways to work together better. You aren't replaceable, and there's always room for collaboration. -SlvrHwk (talk) 16:53, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just some clarification before any assumptions are made... Since I have some personal connections to oviraptorosaurs—and particularly the Caenagnathidae (though not this particular taxon—I did start the page for Eoneophron. However, I very intentionally did not start Gandititan (despite basal titanosaurs/somphospondylans being another of my favorite dinosaur groups). Unfortunately a rather incompetent editor got there first and it seems like I'm always cleaning up after them. Regardless, I'll slow down more now so others can also make pages. It is fine to "list" country names, but, as Wikipedia's MOS states, they should not be "linked", since they are common terms. Having a link is not particularly beneficial in these scenarios. It's not a huge deal that I would say warrants extensive edits, but if you do find linked country names, there is probably nothing wrong with unlinking them. -SlvrHwk (talk) 16:49, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, as an autistic person I feel a little emotionally painful wherever I see my revisions overwritten so quickly. I take pride in being the first one to add new names to the list, and to see someone else writing the names for me and having revisions that stay current for longer makes me kinda jealous.
