Have spun a bit of magic & amazingly this template has appeared out of nowhere. Dan arndt (talk) 09:47, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Wiki-tables

Is it a case of all talk - no action??? Dan arndt (talk) 11:03, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Hoedown

Is definetely a Sean Kelly attributed release - which reminds me I have to go through and provide a discography for Kelly (just another on my list of things to do). Dan arndt (talk) 23:18, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Done a lot of searching for this release and have found next to nothing - as it was released in 1987 it would appear that it occurred whilst the Models were still in existence - can't find any sources to tell me who else was in the band apart from Kelly... Not certain where to list it.Dan arndt (talk) 00:43, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
I think we just have to comment that it appears it was a (non-notable) side-project by Kelly which only produced the one release and was undertaken when the Models were in apparent demise - unless we can find who the other members of The Clampetts comprised of. Interesting tit-bit I found reference in an interview with James Freud where he describes Matthews as the Yoko One - who broke up the band - not certain whether this was in his pre-rehab phase or not. Dan arndt (talk) 06:32, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Australia Made

Good work - still waiting to see whether I can get a hold of the Glen A Baker book - think that you should list it for DYK (what about GA status?). Dan arndt (talk) 09:59, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Still waiting - in the meantime got a copy of The Real Thing by Toby Creswell Dan arndt (talk) 02:40, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Rock Journos

After seeing your comments was thinking that we probably need to bolster some of the articles on Australian Rock Journalists and therefore don't have to go through arguements with other editors as to whether their articles have a degree of validity (can remember somebody making the comment about Ed Nimmervoll). Will have to go back through our various references and see which other articles need fleshing out in that respect (working on Craig Mathieson and Creswell). Dan arndt (talk) 02:40, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Possibly articles on Jeff Apter (music editor at Rolling Stone (Australia) author of Silverchair, Chilli Peppers, The Cure, Dave Grohl biographies), Debbie Kruger (music author & ARIA rep) or Anthony O'Grady (founder RAM (Rock Australia Magazine) & author Cold Chisel Biography). Dan arndt (talk) 03:15, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
In respect to McF whilst the drummer in Sean Kelly's first band was Ian McFarlane I can't find any references that it is the same as the journalist Ian McFarlane - will keep searching. Dan arndt (talk) 03:42, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Creswell was the writer for all the episodes of 'The Great Australian Album' both series 1 & 2 (hell of a job) - have a number of the episodes on DVD... I see you are looking on making a start on Debbie Kruger. The only piece in the jigsaw that is missing is an article on the Australian version of 'Rolling Stone' magazine. It appears that a number of players in the music industry have been involved in its evolution over the years. Dan arndt (talk) 03:36, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
I like the idea of separate articles for RAM and Juice but we can put them on the to do list.Dan arndt (talk) 06:42, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
The Kruger article looks really good - not that I should have expected anything less. I agree with the idea of one for David Kent and ARDb (not Magnus though). That TDL just keeps getting bigger & bigger....
Of course my music TDL is completely ethereal like a lot of projects I have... mind you at the speed you are cranking articles out you'll be getting through yours faster than mine buddy. So now that you finished the Kent article - where to next? Rolling Stone Magazine (Australia) looks inviting - it is the longest running international edition of Rolling Stone... has a fascinating history... is probably the longest running Australian music publication... heaps of references... come on you know you want to.Dan arndt (talk) 01:41, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Hope you don't mind me giving this one a shove - have to start somewhere. Dan arndt (talk) 08:34, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
My preference is for Rolling Stone Magazine (Australia) as the US edition is Rolling Stone Magazine - that way it shows that it is a subsidiary of the US version. Dan arndt (talk) 08:51, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Jesus you make it tough for a guy - on the basis of your comments you'd have to go Rolling Stone Australia with a redirect from Rolling Stone Magazine (Australia) - does that sound better? Dan arndt (talk) 09:07, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

You really need to contact somebody who has a bot to do all that chasing around - there are enough of them around - surely somebody else can do it for you. Dan arndt (talk) 09:15, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

You know some people might say you have a real problem if you get thrilled by trying to track down every reference to Kent - not me of course as I've been know to do some strange things. Dan arndt (talk) 09:29, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Have moved the article on Rolling Stone out - thanks for the editorial review - whilst linking it with other articles, it of course revealed a whole stack of related articles which need work such as Craig Mathieson (and 1001 Songs), John O'Donnell, Tim Baker and Phillip Frazer etc. Dan arndt (talk) 00:38, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query On March 24, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Australian Made, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Somehow this credit was given to Skinny87 instead. I have no idea how that happened, but it appears you and Dan are the creators of this article. Gatoclass (talk) 00:35, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

DYK for Debbie Kruger

Thanks for the edits on that article; it is much improved for it! Cheers Murtoa (talk) 12:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Xmas

Hope you have a merry Xmas and look forward to collaborating on something new in the New Year....you never know what I might come up with. Dan arndt (talk) signed but not dated... 17:13, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Project Renovation

I was thinking that maybe we should re-visit the Australian Crawl discography and totally update & then.... put if forward as a GL candidate. Wouldn't bother with video clip/producers unless we can find them all. We start work on tracking down record accreditations etc but I think that the article looks a bit lame as it stands. Dan arndt (talk) 01:08, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Have been a little slack (haven't been online to assist) - discog looks good some minor tweaks and I think it should be there. Dan arndt (talk) 00:06, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Suggest we put it up for a Peer review. Dan arndt (talk) 01:43, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Done (but you've probably already noticed that) Dan arndt (talk) 03:04, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Semantics

Should we not include the Semantics album which was released by Geffen records in the US as it was an offical release and different from the EP. Dan arndt (talk) 08:06, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

I was thinking about it earlier and feel it should be listed as a compilation album, as it includes tracks from earlier releases (ie EP and other albums). Dan arndt (talk) 08:58, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Done - you might want to add a footnote and change the one for the EP. Will leave that to you. Dan arndt (talk) 09:09, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain that the Geffen record was only released in the States and available elsewhere as an import (including Oz). Dan arndt (talk) 00:20, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Was going to get around to adding the alternative US cover to the article on Semantics, so you might to want the alternative track listing for the European releases as well. Dan arndt (talk) 05:46, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Thought that was the US cover - guess I was mistaken... Wouldn't rush to add the cassette as there is no proof it is any diferent from the Geffen LP (in fact based on the evidence you would have to say that they are the same). Dan arndt (talk) 09:07, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Sigh - not certain whether it is just a hand written comment on the cover - hard to say its an offical release. Dan arndt (talk) 09:18, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

You might want to re-assess the Semantics article as I would say its no longer 'Start' class. Dan arndt (talk) 09:09, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Don't look at me I'm calling it quits for the day.Dan arndt (talk) 09:20, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Thinking

Have been thinking about where we could direct our efforts next... Dan arndt (talk) 07:16, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Renée Geyer

The Music Barnstar
Awarded to Shaidar cuebiyar for the great job on the Renée Geyer article!
I can see you're still working on it, but you have already made some major improvements. Rossrs (talk) 13:16, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Australian Crawl Discography

Looks like we might have a peer reviewer so will hold off any FLC nomination for the time being. Dan arndt (talk) 03:43, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

ACd to FLC?

According to the FL criteria the Peer Review has to be closed and archived before the list is nominated. So will have to sit tight until then - by my estimates we should wait for at least a week after the last comments were made before I close it using the proper process as soon as I've done that I'll put it forward as a FL candidate. Dan arndt (talk) 06:23, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Crawl Videos

Whilst trawling through various sites trying to get more details on The Crawl Video File I came across a number of entries which revealed that there was another video of AC songs produced, More Wharf: Best of Australian Crawl which was no doubt released around the same time as the compliation album in 1998. Check out [1] and [2]. Will update the discography accordingly - do we need to reference these finds? Dan arndt (talk) 06:40, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

What's worse is that I've found another one, this time a DVD, Australian Crawl & James Reyne: The Definitive Collection - am trying to track down more info but according to a forum "this dvd did exist, albeit VERY briefly! not sure of the legalities or issues surrounding it, but there were some. It was pulled very quickly after being briefly put on the shelves. there were definitely copies out there at some point, you would have to be very lucky to have it though! unforutnately, it has never seen the light of day again, so i dont know whether we will be ever lucky enough to see it on the shelves!". I'll see what I can track down/ferret out. Dan arndt (talk) 06:52, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Updated discography - more info confirming existence of both at Australian Film Classification Board and AFCB - so what do you think? Dan arndt (talk) 07:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Have provided reference sources for all video albums - thanks to the AFCB. Have to do some work in r/l - so will leave some of the others to you & get back to the rest later this afternoon. Have sent you an email question though. Dan arndt (talk) 04:20, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Justification

Thought you might like to provide the reference justification - as they are just external links not references & you are so eloquent in your explanations whilst I'm just blunt - thanks for the correction to the use of dashes in dates - included it in the FLC feedback response. Dan arndt (talk) 06:54, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

That means I would have to file them away somewhere (and remember where I left them) - all sounds too hard for me :D Dan arndt (talk) 07:18, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the edits in bringing the article into shape - looks good now. Dan arndt (talk) 01:29, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
