Blocked IPv4

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

the ip is blocked, not sure why ? Even after being logged in I am unable to edit. I would like to see some evidence of improper editing from this IP since this has never happened before. Perhaps this network (hathway) has been used by other users but that should not make a logged in user blocked. Ideas please ? When I check the list of edits done by this IP range, I notice that it's mostly anon edits, I believe logged in users should not be blocked.

Decline reason:

In order to be able to look into this, you will need to tell us your IP address(we have no way of knowing it otherwise). If you do not wish to post it publicly, you may use WP:UTRS to provide it privately. 331dot (talk) 11:34, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I see this message: You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create them. Editing from 116.206.202.0/23 has been blocked(disabled) by ‪Bbb23‬ My IP is this: 116.206.202.94. Could not find any relevant information here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/116.206.202.0/23 Mostly the edits are anon edits. I don't understand why non-anon users have been blocked, including me. RahulG (talk) 12:11, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

As you have an extensive edit history, I will grant you a short term IP block extension(a month) so you can make edits now. For a longer term block, if needed, you will need to make another unblock request via WP:UTRS and specifically ask for a checkuser to look at it. 331dot (talk) 14:27, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The IP you give falls within a range that is under a checkuser block, meaning that there is technical evidence to support the block(though only checkusers have access to that evidence). Such blocks are usually made to prevent abusive users from rapidly changing IP addresses to harm Wikipedia(not necessarily you).

If your editing circumstances (i.e. physical location, device, etc.) have changed, this may be why you are now affected by a block. I see that the block was made on February 21st but you have edited successfully since then. Have your circumstances under which you edit changed? (I don't need to know what they are specifically) 331dot (talk) 12:32, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response.. well I recently (around 2 weeks backs) moved to a different city and I have been using this Wifi connection for the past few days. The only explanation is that perhaps my ISP allocates IP addresses of different ranges and today I was allocated this address. I'm not sure what people under these circumstances normally do and hence am not sure what I can do, other than perhaps renew my DHCP lease and hope I get allocated a different range. What can you suggest ? RahulG (talk) 12:56, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

UTRS is down and I cannot make a unblock request as per policy. Since moving to a new city my network seems to be blocked over Wifi. Can someone please add me to a permanent list of IP whitelisted users ? I am not a frequent editor but usually wikify articles that come to my attention during my regular work.RahulG (talk) 07:19, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Accept reason:

I've given you IPBE for 3 months which should definitely get you by the current blocks. If they are reissued, email [email protected]@ and link this thread. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 20:31, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bariwali, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bengali (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi! I wonder about this file. Source is stated to "Shooting for an ad film". Does that mean that you are the photographer? Or that you have made a screenshot from an ad film? --MGA73 (talk) 19:13, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

yes I’m the photographer. RahulG (talk) 19:23, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
