Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Flounder, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Stingray. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Geronimo20 (talk) 22:22, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "St simons community church"

A page you created, St simons community church, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is nonsense or gibberish.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. 4twenty42o (talk) 22:30, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your article

Hello Quahog10. I've removed the speedy deletion tag from St simons community church because I don't think it was nonsense. But, it might still be deleted because of a policy called notability. Basically for any topic to have an article on Wikipedia it needs to have been covered in newspapers, books or somewhere similar so we have evidence that it's 'notable' enough to be in an encyclopaedia, like the White House is but my house is not. If you know of any such sources about St. Simon's, it would be great to add them to the article. Otherwise it might be deleted after a while. If this happens I hope you won't be too upset, it happens to lots of us when we're first learning to use Wikipedia. (You can read more about notability here.)

Also I had a look at the edits which people have called 'vandalism' above. I think you were trying to improve articles and not vandalising - again, I hope being 'told off' for your efforts didn't worry you too much.

If you have any questions or I can help at all, please feel free to ask me on my talk page. Happy editing! Olaf Davis (talk) 23:24, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Quahog, I have removed the vandalism warnings from your talk page; I do not believe that your edits constituted vandalism. However, I did note that your edits were not necessarily constructive, and would urge you to carefully proofread what you submit, and to use the sandbox for possible test edits. Happy editing, Drmies (talk) 01:11, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Your edits to flounder and stingray were in fact non-constructive, and you should not interpret Drmies behaviour as reason to continue in this way. --Geronimo20 (talk) 01:27, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sure--I agree with Geronimo that they were non-constructive. Drmies (talk) 02:07, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The edits I warned about were equally non-constructive. --4wajzkd02 (talk) 02:12, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But they were not vandalism; the difference is whether the editor intends to damage Wikipedia. It's important not to be too liberal with the term. Olaf Davis (talk) 09:41, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
