April fools

Just a reminder that april fools jokes are not allowed in the mainspace. Fram (talk) 10:02, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

Fram, so how do I create an April Fools related XfD page? This is the first time I've participated in an April Fools' Day event at enwiki, so there may be some mistakes. Q28 (talk) 10:04, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
See Wikipedia:April Fools for all information and rules. Fram (talk) 10:08, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
@Fram Well, in fact, April Fool's Day have passed, but I will abide by these rules in the next April Fool's Day. Q28 (talk) 03:44, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

Self nominations at Editor of the Week

Please do not take the rejection of your self-nomination to heart. In no way is it a rejection of you as an editor or as a member of the Wikipedia community of editors. Continue your efforts. Your ability to create this is an example of someone with the skills to develop into a quality editor. BTW, since the example was not created by a Editor of the Week clerk it will soon be undone. ―Buster7  18:23, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

@Buster7 Oh, thank you. Thank you for your kind reminder. Q28 (talk) 03:42, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

Close-up of a newborn baby girl yawning while lying down

A yawn is a reflex consisting of the simultaneous inhalation of air and the stretching of the eardrums, followed by an exhalation of breath. Many animal species, including birds and fish, experience yawning. The study of yawning is called chasmology. Yawning (oscitation) most often occurs in adults immediately before and after sleep, during tedious activities and as a result of its contagious quality. This photograph shows a newborn girl yawning; research data strongly suggest that neither contagious nor story-induced yawning is reliable in children below the age of six years.

This is a page that redirect to emoji. However, because the target page did not mention it, the page was deleted. Q28 (talk) 03:30, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

Case change redirects

Please stop creating redirects such as Dwen and Love me. It is unnecessary to create redirects that change the case of whatever letter in the target article. The software doesn't care if you type dWeN, dweN, DWEn, etc. While those are redlinks, if you put any of those combinations into the search box, it automatically takes you to DWEN, making these redirects completely useless. Please stop. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 23:24, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

@Hammersoft I have pause to create the redirect, I'm sorry to have caused you so much trouble. Q28 (talk) 03:28, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
The other side thanked my editor, I think that beacuse the other side agreed with me. Now that the topic could be closed because it had no more discussion and controversy. {{archive now}} Q28 (talk) 14:15, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

This page was originally a redirect from a user script. However, due to the low number of people using the user script, the shortcut was removed. Q28 (talk) 03:26, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

Well, the rules of the Wikicup didn't allow me to do that, but anyway this can be archived. {{archive now}}--Q28 (talk) 14:37, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

Q28, I don't understand how you came up with the idea of just copying someone's comments and then starting an FAR with it, but I guess I can understand why you haven't returned to that review despite having started it, and despite having been pinged there. This would be a good time to analyze what you did, admit your mistakes, apologize for the inconvenience which needlessly put a half a dozen editors to work, and then to move on. A lack of communication is not a good thing. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 23:05, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Oh, was Wikipedia:WikiCup/History/2022/Submissions/Q28 the reason? That's even worse. User:Cwmhiraeth, I reverted the edit five points scored in that submission: this is not a valid way to score. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 23:09, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
  • Drmies Actually it is completely acceptable to start a FAR based on someone else's FAR notice, assuming the problems are still present in the article. Follow-up is expected, however. It's up to the coords to close FARs so I've reverted your edit. (t · c) buidhe 23:43, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
    • Buidhe, actually it's never OK to present someone else's work as your own. This qualifies as disruptive editing of the worst kind. Drmies (talk) 01:59, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
      • I agree that it's not ok to directly copy without quotation marks. I have on occasion opened FARs by quoting comments left on the talk page by other editors. (t · c) buidhe 03:15, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
@Buidhe and Drmies: I'm sorry about this. I won't use this to open FAR again. Q28 (talk) 03:25, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
With no reply in two weeks, I think this is the end of the matter.{{archive now}} Q28 (talk) 06:09, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
