Speedy deletion nomination of File:Aka Mama Diaspora.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Aka Mama Diaspora.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Chief ajayi, president banda, lilian and denise.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Chief ajayi, president banda, lilian and denise.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nick—Contact/Contribs 17:44, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of File:GC4W-AWARDS-134.png

A tag has been placed on File:GC4W-AWARDS-134.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Replaceable fair use File:Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 16:09, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on Draft:Lilian Ajayi-Ore

Hi Ozonyiawiki, thanks for your message on my talk page, and my apologies for not giving you more feedback in the first place. You are right to be frustrated with that omission, and with this whole AfC process. I do know it takes a lot of work to research and write an article, and to have a draft declined after all that is certainly not encouraging. We want enthusiastic editors like you to stay on board at Wikipedia and an experience like that doesn't help with morale!

With all that being said, I'm happy to provide a bit more feedback on this particular draft. I think the issue is that with the initial drafts, it was unclear whether we could establish notability for this subject because of the promotional tone in which it was written. Once you very rightly corrected this, it was easier to see the "facts" and to really examine the quality of the references provided. With this latest review, I was able to look at each reference and unfortunately, was unable to see that there was significant coverage of the subject in reliable, independent sources.

To be clearer, it appears to be that only the following sources are reliable/independent according to WP:RS: #8, #11. Within these, there is not significant coverage of the subject, beyond passing mentions. What we would need to see are articles in newspapers or magazines that talk about the subject, beyond quoting or interviewing her. The other sources can stay in the article to provide information, but do not contribute to the assessment of notability. It could be that there is not yet enough information about this subject in order to qualify for an article on Wikipedia (see WP:TOOSOON).

Please let me know if you have any further questions; you can just post here and I'll reply. I hope you will continue to make your very valuable contributions to Wikipedia. - MapleSoy (talk) 21:16, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your DJ Obi article

Hello Ozonyiawiki, can you explain to me why you wrote this article like an unambiguous advertisement or promotion? —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 03:19, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Nnadigoodluck: Hi Nnadigoodluck, I guess it was because I don't know yet how to be more concise. I was only trying to present all the information about the subject's achievement/acomplishment that I had extracted while researching him. I always find it very difficult to know what information to remove that is not all that relevant. I have realised this has been a big problem in my writing new article. I can see now how you have tidied it up to look more professionally done. This is a skill I'm very eager to learn. It will save me a lot of hassles and recurring feedback from reviewers asking me to go back and rework my article.Ozonyiawiki (talk) 07:28, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, the AfC reviewer that accepted the article in that form shouldn't have accepted it, I guess they didn't read it at all. You're lucky, it would have been nominated for speedy deletion G11 and for sure it would have been deleted immediately. I removed his attempt to break the Guinness World Records, because it was not recognized by Guinness World Records. Please, try not to praise the subject of your article next time. Read WP:NPOV and WP:RS. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 10:02, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nnadigoodluck:, Thanks for the feedback and advice. I will try as much as I can to avoid all that. This has always been the biggest problem I'm having, which is not knowing exactly how to present a subject without coming across as promoting, praising or advertising and using peackock language. I just saw now that another article David Leppan, which I submitted few days ago has been reviewed as being promotional. I will try and rework it as instructed by the reviewer. Thank you.Ozonyiawiki (talk) 19:09, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nnadigoodluck: Just one more thing in respect to presentation of facts one finds in reliable sources. For example, the Guinness World Record that was all over the newspapers, which I did my best to present the fact as I saw it and even idicated that he has not yet been recognised as I did not see any official statement from Guinness World Record that they accepted or rejected that result. There were interviews from credible sources like tha BBC which I quoted in the page as well. Till the time of writing that article the issue of being confirmed or not was totally silent. So I wonder how I could have assumed otherwise. I think it is not for me or anyone to reject his acomplishment which was publicly celebrated and captured in major newspapers. Is it not much better to mention it but underline categorically that it has not yet been ratified or approved by the World Guinness council? I really don't know how best to present facts uncovered from researching a subject. I guess I still have a lot to learn about writing in wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ozonyiawiki (talk • contribs) 19:46, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please, always make sure you sign your signature and indent your replies for easy reading. About the Guinness World Records that he attempted breaking, I'll re-add it to the article and you'll see how I'll do it. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 19:59, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nnadigoodluck: That would be a big learning curve for me to see how facts are being presented in a much better way. I was very happy to see how the reviewers of Joshua Iginla's article reworked the facts I provided for his page and presented it much more succinct. Regards,Ozonyiawiki (talk) 20:08, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, after close review and per Guinness World Records official website, I won't be adding the record to the article, since it'll confuse our readers in a very sensitive topic like this one. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 01:11, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Lilian Ajayi-Ore

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Lilian Ajayi-Ore, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Could you please explain why, with the exception of the 'Guardian piece', you have discountenanced all the other reliable multiple sources for the Draft:Frances Olubowale Oke.
Thank you.Ozonyiawiki (talk) 17:19, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
By contrast, your references are a mixture of churnalism and interviews with Oke.
Your job is to prove that he merits an article here. That first paragraph of mine, if you can fulfil it, will do it.
We do not need more references. We need better references, I am sure @DoubleGrazing will give you the same advice FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 17:55, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Draft:Jerry Uchechukwu Eze

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:Jerry Uchechukwu Eze has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
