Hi Ninafundisha! I saw that you've been teaching a course related to African archeology and I wanted to ask if you knew about any public resources where other editors can find out about the early histories of different African countries. For example, a few months ago I was working on the history section for the page on Central African Republic and there were very few public sources of information related to interesting topics like the Bouar Megaliths, Meroë and Bantu trade routes and the Neolithic Revolution in Africa. Can you provide any help with this kind of thing? I'm interesting in improving the history sections of country pages and would like to focus on the least edited pages (which are almost all African countries). Please let me know your thoughts. Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). I just wanted to give you a shout out and thank you for doing the Wikipedia project in your African Archaeology class a few years ago. Not only was it a fun project, but I learned several in's and out's of Wiki editing/creation. I'm not sure if you still do it as a class, but no student should ever question why you do the project. I currently have an internship where one of my tasks is to update the company's former pages and to create news ones as well! I didn't assume that Rebecca of Umoja was trustworthy just because she's friends with Clinton. I didn't think I was over generalizing Samburu Patriarchy as the Narrator on the Vice News special on Umoja that Samburu women are less then second class citizens in typical Samburu society because the Men make all the rules not unlike Several Countries in the past and present. However the Samburu's Patriarchs are one of the men who are far more brutal in oppressing women than many other countries today. Vice news states that the Samburu Tribes have been abusing it's women for 500 years.
