Thank you for quality articles around cinema and TV in Pakistan and the US, such as 89th Academy Awards, Pakistan Idol (season 1) and A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness, for supporting Women in Red, for example by Qandeel Baloch, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Coke Studio Season 11

Hey Nauriya, I'm just here to inform you that you have edited and added all the artistes on Coke Studio 11. I want you to know that the list should only contain names of Singers/bands who haven't perfeomed before. Also that Shamu Bai and Vishnu are not from a group, so there name should be written separately. Kindly remove the names of the artistes who have performed before and write Shamu Bai and Vishnu's name separately. I'll be thankful. Hamza590 (talk) 19:40, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Hamza590, Since when this is the rule that artists who have performed before shouldn't be listed? It is an artist line-up and it is revealed every year, with no artist(s) being regular member of CS. So even if they are appearing consecutively (for instance, in a TV series of multiple seasons, the cast is mentioned and if any actor is reprising its role in next season they will be mentioned again in that respective season page) they should be listed again. You cannot ask me to remove anything simply, without providing substantial proof that it violates wikipedia policies. On the other hand, Shamu Bai and Vishnu can be listed separately as in promo song Vishnu performed with Asrar, but it is yet to be find out as well.
One thing more, I am updating that article for quite a long now, as I have done it before constructively. I backed off for season 10 to let other editors contribute as well but just so you know or to avoid any edit warring, and reverting, I am asking you before hand, do not remove, revert or add anything with out providing substantial claim to your edits however you are welcome to assist though. I have put the template "under construction" on talk page to inform other editors as well. Nauriya Let's talk 26 July 2018, 10:58 (UTC).

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:11, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license

Unspecified source/license for File:Pak Serzameen Shaad Baad music sheet.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Pak Serzameen Shaad Baad music sheet.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 13:46, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Pak Serzameen Shaad Baad music sheet.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Pak Serzameen Shaad Baad music sheet.jpg, which you've attributed to https://www.8notes.com/scores/23174.asp. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:50, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The page "Ahmed Ali (actor)"

Hi, you basically created the page "Ahmed Ali (actor)", but the problem is that "Ahmed Ali" is too generic, and the main concerned himself always presents himself as "Ahmed Ali Akbar", and he's credited in his professional work. That creates a lot of ambiguity, and I was wondering if there was either a way to rename (move ?) the page, or to delete it to create a new "Ahmed Ali Akbar" one, with the same content ofc ? Cheers, Arslan-San

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Sarmad Sultan khoosat

A tag has been placed on Template:Sarmad Sultan khoosat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Proposed deletion of File:Coke Studio 9 Logo in green.png

Notice

The file File:Coke Studio 9 Logo in green.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free logo that is claimed to be used "to serve as the primary means of visual identification at the top of the article dedicated to the work in question", but is in fact being used in a section. File:Coke Studio season 9 logo.png serves that purpose. Fails WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#3a.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Television series shot in Kashmir

A tag has been placed on Category:Television series shot in Kashmir requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Nauriya (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribsdeleted contribs • filter log • creation logchange block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))

Request reason:

Its been more than one and half years since I am blocked from Wikipedia. Community had a lengthy discussion on my conduct at this very platform and I accepted their decision for my mistakes and stayed away from any disruption, dispute, or sock-puppetry. I took this much time to understand this platform further, although, a member since 2013, I was only interested in one medium - arts and media. I used this account since then and made memorable time and edits with it, which gave me pure joy. Wikipedia, at a time was my only activity and it consumed me inside out. I was all over the place with my copyrights issues and other mistakes, but in the end I can only learn from them and move forward with understanding. I can not undo or erase my doings but can only ask those, in whose hands authorities are given, and I am asking for a last chance. I have taken this period to rehabilitate myself in terms of a better knowledge for the rules and regulations that runs this platform. I didn't had the courage to appeal this unblock earlier ever after the due "six month" period of limitation, as I wanted to give myself more time to think, what I was involved with and how my conduct was viewed as wrong and disruptive. All of what was happened is in the discussion already and I don't want to dwell onto that but I will take this opportunity to appeal the community and admins to consider my request with utmost sincerity and my honest acknowledgement of mistakes into your account. This is indeed my last chance, and I am making sure to try my best to prove to you that I no longer intend to repeat those mistakes, ever again. I am clear what I am asking for and I will make sure, what happened, will never happen again. I assure you, or I wish I could show you that I have come without any agenda, and this is not a planned scheme with any ill intention of being disruptive and dishonest again. This is all I have to say. I have kept my options open for all the possibilities and as much as I am desperate to come back, I will respect any decision made, without any question. Thank you very much for taking your time to hear out this request. Nauriya, Let's talk - 15:15, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 12:24, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This would have to be posted to WP:AN for community approval. Is this the message you'd like posted? NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 12:26, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! Nauriya, Let's talk - 15:43, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK, done. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 12:55, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Nauriya, Let's talk - 15:57, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@NinjaRobotPirate: Since I can not edit at ANI, if I may, I want to say that my request clearly says that I am sorry for my mistakes and I will not follow the same path, as I did before. Also, all other accounts are not mine, this has been discussed and confirmed in previous discussions. Prior to 2013, I did have accounts, as I was an IP exempt because I was in a place where all of sites were blocked, so I did made mistakes because I was very immature editor at that time and it was also cleared by admins. After 2013 I never created another account, I did change the name though. Thats it! Nauriya, Let's talk - 19:20, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'll copy that over for you. One thing to consider, though, is that some people look like they might support your unblock if you said something like, "I did <A>, but now I will do <Z>". NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 22:54, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Query: Hi Nauriya, since you were originally blocked for copyright violations, I'm wondering if you could please answer a few questions. They might be a bit tough, so you should probably think about them and answer to the best of your ability:
  1. What is a copyright?
  2. What sort of content is considered copyrighted?
  3. How do you know if material is copyrighted or free to use?
  4. If you are unclear on some of the nuances of Wikipedia's rules about including copyrighted materials, where at Wikipedia can you find answers to those questions? (For example, specific Wikipedia policy/guideline pages or places in the community where you could ask for help. You don't have to list everything, I just want to see if you know where to find answers to questions that might come up.)
I may have follow-up questions depending on your responses. We can move my questions and your responses to the relevant AN discussion should you choose to answer. Thank you and regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:10, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Answers:

  1. As per my understanding, a copyright is a legal right of the individual/owner of their intellectual property that prohibits anyone other than the original owner of the unauthorised use and distribution of their works.
  2. All creative content is considered copyrighted per Berne Convention. However, any material/work released to public domain, becomes license free, or in case where copyright is explicitly detailed and disclaimed.
  3. Since Wikipedia, uses links/references to the content written/used in its articles - any material/text or work that is a simple copy-and-paste from websites, is considered copyrighted. All other works on Wikipedia are free to use, if in compliance with CC-BY-SA and if co-licensed then GFDL or where restrictions and sanctions are applied.
  4. If one is having difficulty in understanding the Wikipedia copyright policies, we can approach WP:C for understanding the basic terminologies. If one want to know how to use copyrighted content on Wikipedia, they can refer to WP:COPYREQ and related WP:CV101. In addition, WP:CRA can serve as an assistance to user(s) looking for brief overview. The most important one in my view is knowing WP:COPYVIO and in my case where I was wrong, one must know how can they add this image to Wikipedia? / can they copy-paste this text into Wikipedia?. And for help WT:CP, WP:CQ are helpful or we can find a relevant noticeboard to approach for help.
Thank you @Cyphoidbomb for taking your time out and being so considerate. And yes sure, thats what I am here for, to answer any question I can in order to show that I am willing to abide by the policies of this platform. And ask for help first this time, if I will face any problem. Nauriya, Let's talk - 8:15, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I've pasted my questions and your answers at WP:AN. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:35, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Follow-up query: Lorstaking has opposed your unblock, and believes that you did not write the above answer by yourself. I don't personally think that it is a crime if you asked someone for grammatical assistance, but the community needs to be assured that 1) *you* actually understand copyright rules, and 2) that someone else didn't type or dictate your response for you, and 3) that you didn't copy it from somewhere else, as that would just be another copyright violation. Can you please clarify if you received any help, and maybe explain why some of the grammar might not be consistent with other comments you've made? Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:44, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This question has been raised constantly by that user, and I really don't know how to prove that. To answer your questions. 1) Yes I do understand but I am afraid, in future If I am doing edits, my smallest mistakes and errors will be considered for a ban. 2) No, someone did not write for me anything, and didn't helped me preparing this request. Frankly, nobody has a time for it. May be when I write, I rewrite too many times, so it may have looked different every time. But nobody helped me or dictated my response. 3) I din't copy-paste my response, you are free to cross-check from web or wherever admins have authority to do so. It was a pretty generic response to your questions. In terms of taking help from Wikipedia, I did take help from all the copyright related articles but I didn't copy-paste anything from any those articles as well. I know I am supposed to be gentle and patient while requesting unblock, and I am ok with all the questions and concerns raised by community, and have no problem whatsoever but there is a difference between asking someone for clarification and blaming directly without giving them chance and not having good faith. So for some users, I will always be a sitting duck, not matter how much I am being honest here. Thanks you for your time. Nauriya, Let's talk - 08:21, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! An option that's come up on the AN discussion is unblocking with an indefinite topic ban on Pakistan-related topics. Would you be open to that option? I'm sure the ban would be appealable within 6 months or so. Thank you, with hopes that things go favourably on your end, Puddleglum2.0(How's my driving?) 16:47, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Puddleglum2.0 Does this sanction applies to Pakistani related topics of entertainment medium as well? Because I only take interest in those topics and has few violation/objections in creating those articles (apart from image copyright issue and some articles where I change them based on the objections raised.), you can confirm with the history of those articles. But if it cannot be excluded in the ban community is proposing, I will concede to the decision. Because nothing is more important for me right now to show the goodwill of my intentions. Rest assured, I will appeal that ban after six months, and will assure the community that my edits will only be related to arts and entertainment (based on my history you can confirm all of my topics/articles/edits fall under this medium). And I will never take part in edits related to Indo-Pak political topics or topics having both parties involving some kind of ongoing conflict. Nauriya, Let's talk - 20:50, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"Because I only take interest in those topics and has few violation/objections in creating those articles" then what made you create Edward H. Hamm Jr., Gabriel Grapperon and many other articles having nothing to do with Pakistan? Lorstaking 07:27, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
When I said this, I did not mean that my only interest is in Pakistani entertainment medium. Actually, I was asking will the proposed ban exclude Pakistani topics related to entertainment or not. Of course I have created articles not related to Pakistan. But they all comes under arts/entertainment. And why I would only create articles related to Pakistan? My general interest in arts/entertainment, regardless of any country or place. Nauriya, Let's talk - 10:47, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear Wikipedia community and admins, I hope you are all well doing the things you like. I am also doing well. I am here again to ask for another unblock request as I did more than two years ago. In last two years I have tried to keep myself busy with other things alongside work, and I have written contents for various channels and mediums but it has always been Wikipedia where I took my first leap of faith from, when I started my journey 8 years ago. In the past two years I have really tried to appeal for an unblock, but thought it hard over if I am ready or not and after careful and long consideration, I am requesting my unblock for your kind attention. During my time off from Wikipedia I have learned to make better decisions for me to grow as a better person with better understanding and knowledge. As you can see my above request and the reason there, why I was banned, and why I was held accountable - I once again apologize my mistake and I promise I will show myself as a better contributor to this platform. I sincerely hope that admins and other community members overseeing this request will consider it positively and give me a chance to show that I have grown from my past mistake. Please give me a chance to prove myself. Thank you. Nauriya, Let's talk - 20:08, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Consensus at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Unblock_request_of_Nauriya is clear that not all relevant concerns have been addressed sufficiently to unblock at this time. Star Mississippi 21:45, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Noor Zehra playing Sagar Veena.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Noor Zehra playing Sagar Veena.jpg.

If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 02:45, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
