NASCAR results table

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!!

I saw you start add results table for a lot of drivers like Emanuel Zervakis and I appreciate that but unfortunately you have make a few mistakes...When you add a results table you should add every race of the season in the table, even if the driver did not run. Also you have to add a color in the background of the race results... like you can see in Richard Petty, Kyle Busch and others drivers...The template of the colors is here: Template:NASCAR driver results legend. And the complete race results season by season are here User:Bcschneider53/NASCAR Results (thanks to @User:Bcschneider53 for that effort). But don't worry, we all make mistakes at the beginning and with the time you will learn. Thanks Luks25 (talk) 23:40, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • So glad to have another NASCAR editor around. I saw your post at the NASCAR group page and thought I'd pop by. I'm not sure I agree completely with Luks25 that you "HAVE TO" add background colors to tables, but I suppose it is preferred somewhere. Tables are one of our more complex items, maybe even more difficult than simple citations. But to get back on topic ... Looking at the Richard Petty article for example; first row below the race numbering, The "TOR" cell at the end is written like this:
  • | style="background:#EFCFFF;"| [[1958 Jim Mideon 500|TOR]]<br /><small>17</small>

It's the style="background:#EFCFFF; that gives that table cell its color. For me, the easiest way to duplicate something is to look at an article that has what I want to repeat. Then click on the "edit" button/tab to see what the code is. I usually then copy that - exit out of that page - then go to the page I want to add to and paste it in to the proper place. That "#EFCFFF" thing is coding for web pages to add color to things. (Example color chart) (Wikipedia has a page covering this here, but it's more confusing. IMO ) I hope that helps a bit. - But if you find my post even more confusing, then ignore it and try to find a simpler explanation. — Ched (talk) 12:30, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @User:Ched for the explain!! @User:Nascar9919 you are improving!! but still made a few mistakes. When you adding the motorsport career results you should add:

Motorsports career results

NASCAR

(key) (Bold – Pole position awarded by qualifying time. Italics – Pole position earned by points standings or practice time. * – Most laps led.)

Grand National Series

If you are adding a Grand National Series table for example like you add for Speedy Thompson or the correct name of the series you are adding. If you are adding an ARCA table you only should put ARCA .... Series table instead of NASCAR and add the template below. Also you need to put the last name of the series that the driver ran for example in German Quiroga's page you add NASCAR PEAK Mexico but he last ran in the series in 2011 when it was called Corona Series so you need to fix to Corona Series instead.

Also your tables are too big, you need to put {| class="wikitable" style="text-align:center; font-size:75%" instead of {| class="wikitable"

Also when you add the finish results you need to add the <br /><small>17</small> for example, like @User:Ched said: | style="background:#EFCFFF;"| [[1958 Jim Mideon 500|TOR]]<br /><small>17</small> instead of only the number.

And lastly, in the Pts and Ref don't have a . after them like you did in the Speedy Thompson's page and the NGCS should be fixed to {{abbr|NGNC|NASCAR Grand National classification}} and that also applies for all series you add. Thanks, Luks25 (talk) 16:54, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Nascar9919, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! TheSandDoctor Talk 06:33, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've granted this without an expiry date this time. Should you ever have any questions relating to autopatrolled or wish to relinquish it, please don't hesitate to ask myself or another admin. We're happy to help. TheSandDoctor Talk 06:34, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there- may have a problem. After I got the privilege, none of the articles and redirects I'm creating are coming up if I try to search it up on Wikipedia unless I type out the entire thing. Proposed deletion notification

Notice

The article Bottomless_Pit! has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lack of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Note from PiratePablo : FYI, I don't see how "Bottomless Pit!" has more notability than most Gravity Falls episodes, which don't have their own individual Wikipedia articles, so I suggested that maybe we delete Bottomless_Pit and redirect it to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_Falls_(season_1)#Episodes . Have a nice day, and thanks for editing Wikipedia. PiratePablo (talk) 03:31, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Kuumaa

I see the you have a created a lot of pages for Eurovision artists. I am currently working on a page for the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2023 participants, Kuumaa, and I would like to hear your opinion on whether the page is ready or not to become a main article. DSOFOreverTYU ~ talk ~ Eurovision 14:29, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DSOFOreverTYU: Hi! I noticed that you created a draft for the band. I think my only critiques would be more sources from the Finnish media or something related to Eurovision. The discography and members section look fine- some more history would be great, however. But overall, looks decent for a start. Thank you for asking! Nascar9919 (talk) 19:03, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@DSOFOreverTYU: PS- there is an article on the Finnish Wikipedia on Kuumaa. This could help greatly with sources and expansion to make it look great! Nascar9919 (talk) 19:25, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DSOFOreverTYU: Ah. Gotcha. Well, like I said, I believe some more sources (just a couple more- 2 to 4, maybe) and some expansion would be great. Does look decent. Nascar9919 (talk) 05:34, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of File:Angela's Motorsports logo.png

Notice

The file File:Angela's Motorsports logo.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free logo being used in a WP:DECORATIVE manner in Angela Harkness#Angela's Motorsports which fails WP:NFCC#8. Non-free logos can be used for primary identification purposes at the tops of or in the main infoboxes of stand-alone article about the entities they represent, but their uses in other articles or in other ways typically is much harder to justify per WP:NFC#CS. There's no sourced critical commentary about the logo itself anywhere in the article and there's no content in the article that the can't really be understood by readers if they don't see this logo; so, there's no loss of encyclopedic understanding caused by omitting the logo.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Better source request for File:2000 NAPA Auto Parts 500.jpeg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. — Ирука13 19:37, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Megara (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Formatting and listing one-track download singles

Hello Nascar9919. Per Template:Infobox song, using nested hlists or ubl formatting to list names is now considered a hindrance to WP:ACCESSIBILITY. Please list names in the infobox using bullet points, as the template now supports this formatting for most parameters in it. Secondly, please try to avoid using WP:AFFILIATE citations—that is, any website that primarily sells or advertises a product. Links to e-commerce sites like Apple Music/iTunes and Spotify fall within this definition. To that issue, we generally do not list one-track download/stream singles on articles anyway, so we don't need links to multiple countries' Apple Music pages for this at all anyway. There is no new information gotten by readers from these sections that they couldn't already gather from the infobox: the song and its length. Only when a single has multiple tracks is there really reason to start listing them. Thanks. Ss112 17:55, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. Thanks for the notice! Cheers, and carpe diem! Nascar9919 (he/him • t • c) 05:45, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Özünlə apar

Hi, Nascar! First off, I’d like to thank you for creating so many articles about 2024 Eurovision entries! I have seen you moved the title “Özünlə apar” to “Özünlə Apar” probably based on the EBU capitalization. Keep in mind that the official website uses a different system though (see “La Noia” vs “La noia”), so to avoid what happened for “Zari”, if and when you create an article for the song, there are good reasons to place it under “Özünlə apar” because that seems to be the Azerbaijani style. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 09:10, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. Sounds good. Sorry for all the confusion. My bad on that part. Perhaps it's probably best to wait until the song gets released on streaming platforms and decide from there. Oh, and thanks for the compliment! My ultimate goal is to hopefully get all the song articles to GA quality :) Cheers, and carpe diem! Nascar9919 (he/him • t • c) 09:13, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, you’re doing a great job! Keep it up! ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 09:21, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I do propose, however, that if the title released on streaming platforms is "Özünlə Apar" we should change the redirect or move the article if it has been created by that point; but, as of now, it definitely should stay like it is right now. I'll have that discussion when and if (and only if) that does happen.
I'm going to head to bed... it is quite late haha. You have a good one :) Cheers, and carpe diem! Nascar9919 (he/him • t • c) 09:28, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Uhm, I think we should stick to MOS:FOREIGNTITLE and thus Azerbaijani usage as we do for titles in other languages. In any case, we’ll see that soon. Good night! ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 09:37, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
