Magic Flute ogg files

I borrowed your Template:Listen, but put it in three columns. The title is on top of the listen bar, which links to the file's location on commons. The text of the title reveals who is singing (Tamino, ect.) Underneath the listen bar, I added a one line translation of the first words of the song. I now understand that the German text is a far more important label, but by clicking the top link gets to the Commons file where enough of the German is given in the filename for a Google search. See User:Guy vandegrift/sandbox/sandbox. As of this writing, I have not converted all songs to this format. ... Also, if you don't want to place this on The Magic Flute, I suggest the much smaller page at Ferenc Fricsay (then link out to that location.) ... One more thing: The translation under the bar can be a link out to more info about the song.--Guy vandegrift (talk) 04:42, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's not my template. Interesting presentation in your sandbox, but I don't think it's suitable for The Magic Flute. I never edited Fricsay's article, so I have no opinion there. However, those Magic Flute recordings on Commons ought to be placed in his category. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:45, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I thought of you when I was trying to crop an image and saw this Wikipedia:Extended_image_syntax#Sound_files--Guy vandegrift (talk) 02:16, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

apologies regarding {{ill}} discussion

The response to your input at Template talk:Interlanguage link struck me as unduly harsh. I'm of course not responsible for that, aside from the fact that the explanation I had provided was not as clear as it might have been, other than in the sense that I applied what I had determined to be a "best practice" ... or at least a better practice (regardless of whether there's a reasonable basis for such a claim), plus I'm sure my description of the situation left something to be desired. 76.91.229.226

Hi, can you permanently ban 76.91.229.226 from Wikipedia. It changed Mary Costa’s ancestry from Italian to Portuguese. 76.91.229.226 is violating Wikipedia’s guidelines. 2600:1001:B023:16E5:3CAB:92ED:A96B:BC5D (talk) 19:08, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an administrator, so I can't ban (or block) anyone. The disruption you noticed at Mary Costa is usually dealt with by watchers of that page, and that seems to be the case here. Persistently disruptive editing is often detected by an administrator who will then take appropriate action, most likely a protection of some sort. The proper venue to raise your concerns is either WP:ANI or Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. You can help, too, by registering a username which will allow you to monitor changes on your watchlist. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:19, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
