Welcome to my talk here! All talks here are to be respectable, calming and non-insulting. Please correctly sign your talks with the four tildes (~~~~) or I will not respond to your inquiry, and it will receive an automatic removal from my talk page. In addition to signing your posts, please ensure that you title your new section appropriately. To make sure you do this successfully, please press the third bullet in the template above (Please click here to leave me a new message). Do not edit my page to add and / or remove what you feel you should. If you interrupt a discussion for your own, I will automatically delete it without a single worry — no questions or hesitations about it. All discussions are welcome here on this page, however, please, do not interrupt someone else's and I's conversation or I will remove it automatically. I won't be involved in petty arguments, I don't have the time for you if that's all you're looking for from me. Any personal attacks and/or insults thrown at me or any other editor are automatically deleted, and will receive a report to an administrator or Wikipedia higher-power if seen fit. This is to ensure my talk-page is kept clean and properly organized (slight OCD on my part). Thank you! Also, instead of a talkback, I may leave you a "ping" in our discussion, to save time and talk page space. Please remember to remain civil at all times. Thank you!

Tense

Since WP:LEAD doesn't even contain the word "tense", you can find the real guideline at MOS:TENSE. Specifically where it states to use past tense for "dead subjects, past events, and subjects that no longer meaningfully exist as such

  • Example given: The Beatles were an English rock band

I look forward to you ceasing your erroneous reverting. 2A02:C7D:3CAF:D900:89E:C528:655D:E1A7 (talk) 14:37, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

@2A02:C7D:3CAF:D900:89E:C528:655D:E1A7: Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography#Tense, it specifically states: If a person is living but has retired, use "is a former" or "is a retired" rather than the past tense "was".. All of the Sugababes and Dream members are living, therefore, including "was" is incorrect. As for Britney: Piece of Me, it still is her first concert residency, and given that she is still a living person, it should remain as "is." livelikemusic talk! 14:43, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Carrie Underwood's "End Up With You"

Hai I'm just curious. Why did you remove that page on "End Up With You"? Isnt that a promotional single? Most other artists have pages for promotional singles and album tracks and all. Why not letting Carrie?

Thanks Aravind Anu (talk) 04:36, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

@Aravind Anu: Just because the song exists as a single and/or promotional single does not mean it automatically qualifies for its own independent article. The page nor song qualifies to meet the guidelines of WP:NSONGS; the article has two citations (one of which poorly repeats, when it should be used only one), has not established third-party notability, nor has it charted. This is why the article was removed. Just because a song is released does not mean it automatically qualifies for a standalone article. livelikemusic talk! 12:55, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Set list for the Golden Tour

Hi, I'm just wondering if setlist.fm is a reasonable source to use for the set list on the Golden tour, especially in the case of additional notes, and I'm also curious as to why this page has to be rammed with sources when most other pages with additional notes on the set list aren't sourced at all TheJoJoFredo (talk) 23:32, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

@TheJoJoFredo: No. Setlist FM is not a reliable source. And just because other pages do something does not mean it's right. Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to maintain integrity of a page. livelikemusic talk! 23:37, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

LM5

Fair enough, I don't have a problem with "various" for the regions in the release history, although it sounds odd to me, especially in the era when everything is released digitally at the same time all over the world.

By the way, you may want to see the message I left on Ss112's talk page - I strongly believe that this album has NOT been released on RCA Records... the split with Syco happened too close to the album's release date for them to change label in time, and as a consequence RCA are only distributing this album on Syco's behalf, and future releases will be released on the RCA label. I haven't seen a single source so far that states that RCA is the record label for this album's release. Richard3120 (talk) 20:30, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

@Richard3120: The reason being is that "Worldwide" is too specific and not easily proven, so "Various" is the preferred format. As for Syco Vs RCA UK, when it was reported, it was said RCA UK would be handling the album's release and future promotion, per Syco's request. As for subsequent releases, I honestly do not know what's going to be happening. Whether they stay on RCA UK or they select another label of their own choice... who knows! But, for the purpose of Wikipedia and to avoid further WP:EDITWAR, listing RCA UK as their label for the album is the best bet. Syco is not involved in this project any longer. If anything, it should simply be displayed as Sony Music, given that Sony is the primary label holder for their releases, etc. livelikemusic talk! 20:38, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
In my opinion, just "Sony Music" would be the better option to be honest, because there literally isn't a single source to support this being released on RCA, including copies of the albums themselves. The press release explicitly says "released by Syco", and that label name is presumably what is on all physical copies of the album, and I can see that iTunes is saying it is released by "Simco" as well. Amazon just say "Sony Music". Richard3120 (talk) 20:45, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
@Richard3120: IDK, my BFF Jill! It's just a messy as fuck situation, honestly, and it doesn't paint Syco well. livelikemusic talk! 21:28, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, it's all a bit murky, and I'm really not that fussed about this band, which is why I'm not getting into an edit war over it, just putting forward my opinion to a couple of editors who I know are more objective than most editors on Little Mix articles. It may be one to revisit in a few months once things have become clearer and the majority of the editing on this article has died down. Richard3120 (talk) 21:53, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
@Richard3120: For me, I'm waiting for new pressings of the album. If Syco/Simco Ltd is replaced, then that says it all... livelikemusic talk! 22:02, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Your reversal of the Kiki Jerome edit.

She WAS a character and no longer is, so "was" still makes sense. Wikifan128 (talk) 02:05, 29 November 2018 (UTC)

@Wikifan128: If Kiki Jerome were a living person, then yes, it would be changed it "was." However, per MOS:REDUNDANCY, the Soap Project's views on tense, and WP:FICTENSE, it remains "is," as fictional characters are created, not born, so death is not factual; they still exist in the in-universe. This is what Wikipedia's manual of style requires us to follow. So, "is" remains the proper format. livelikemusic talk! 02:09, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
