Hi,In case you didn't get my previous talk, the material on the UWO web site is actually my material and I allowed UWO to use it.

Here is that previous talk:
Hello Happy Sailor
Please be advised that the Material on the University of Western Ontario Elginfield Observatory page is actually my material and is being used with my permission by the University. I had created this material as background material for members of the Royal Astronomical Society London Centre with regard to a series of open houses at the Observatory this summer. I am a member of the Steering Committee that is looking into new vocations for the facility. One of the Post Doc's passed my material on to UWO public affairs to put on their website when they had requests for information on the Observatory.
I can certainly understand your confusion in this matter as this sort of thing usually works the other way around. If you like I can give you the Email of the Post Doc who can verify what I have set out here.
Thanks very much. John Kulczycki JohnKulczycki (talk) 20:03, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi John, unfortunately, that is not a valid way of using copyrighted works. What you need to do is read the following text Wikipedia:Donating_copyrighted_materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online and either put a copyleft notice on the page (as described) or through OTRS, again as described on that page.
These are the only two ways that you can donate work to wikipedia. Regards - Happysailor (Talk) 08:55, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
