Non-free rationale for File:Hypergan's logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Hypergan's logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:57, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jmaxx37. The information you provided for the file looks like the license provided by the software company, but it is not the non-free use rationale being referred to above. It might be possible here to Template:Non-free use rationale logo, but you can also write your own rationale if you like as long as you include basically the same information. However, regardless of the type of non-free use rationale you add, non-free content is not allowed to be used in drafts per WP:NFCC#9 and WP:DRAFTS#Preparing drafts, so please do not continue to add non-free content to Draft:HyperGAN. What you will need to do is wait until the draft has been approved and moved to the article mainspace by an AfC reviewer, and then re-add the file. However, you will still need to clearly show how its use in the article satisfies Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:59, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads

Hi again Jmaxx37. The licensing some of the other files you've uploaded might also have issues which need resolving. You should just not assume that anythingyou find in a google search is either public domain or has been released under a free license, unless you can clearly show that it is. In fact, it's much better to assumed that it is protected by copyright even if there's no visible copyright notice provided for the image because images are often uploaded and then reuploaded by different people over time to different websites, none of which have anything to do with the original copyright holder of the image. It's always best to find the original source for the image whenever possible because this is the best way to verify copyright status. People and websites are always claiming copyright ownership over content they did not originally create, so you can't always assume they are correct. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:54, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of File:Carykh neuralnets.jpg

The file File:Carykh neuralnets.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Obviously incorrect/nonsense license reason given

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:Hypergan's logo.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Hypergan's logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 19:02, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of EverythingApplePro

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on EverythingApplePro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Replaceable fair use File:Boat Box Hot Spring.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Boat Box Hot Spring.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 20:14, 30 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rater tool

Hello! Do you know about the Rater Tool? It is a tool that you can install as a script that makes assessment ratings super easy. Here is a link to some information about it, where there a link to install the script for the tool. It "predicts" whether an article is a stub, start, C or B. It also helps with finding WikiProjects that can be added to the talk pages of articles to help alert other editors with common interests. More info and link HERE. (Evad37 is the editor who invented it and wrote the script). Netherzone (talk) 14:26, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I will have to check it out sometime soon. Jmaxx37 (talk) 15:25, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Carykh moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Carykh, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Carykh and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Carykh during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. @Jmaxx37, I saw the MfD for your draft, and just wanted to let you know that it's quite clear to me that you are a good faith editor who happened to stumble into a subject that had a problematic history on WP.
Writing a WP:BLP, a biography of living persons is a difficult task, and there are a lot of guidelines to learn about notability, and other criteria. If you haven't already read these, here's some links for you: WP:BLP, MOS:BLP, WP:BIO, WP:N WP:V, WP:WAW. I know that's a lot of links, but I hope they are helpful. If you ever have any questions, you can reach out to me on my talk page, or ask at the WP:TEAHOUSE, or for biography-specific questions, you might want to ask on the talk page of WikiProject Biography WT:WPBIO, the main page for the Project has a ton of links in the side-bar, depending on the vocation of the person in the biography. On another note, thought you might want to read this, if it had not already been shared with you by another editor: Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. Best regards, Netherzone (talk) 00:13, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Netherzone. I always appreciate your help and guidance in regards to editing. I will definitely be checking out the links that you left me. Thanks again. Jmaxx37 (talk) 19:38, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
