NowCommons: File:Parikh-doeringexample.png

File:Parikh-doeringexample.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Parikh-doeringexample.png. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Parikh-doeringexample.png]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 13:42, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox

Hi Gesalbte. I see you made the userbox that states This user takes sides on the working class people. A most admirable sentiment and it looks good but, sorry to say, the English is grammatically incorrect in several ways: in fact, it almost reads the opposite of your intentions.

The phrase rendered correctly and directly would be This user takes the side of the working class people. However, a better way is to remove takes and people and the plural ending for classes as they are redundant (working class is understood to be a collective noun in this context). It now reads: This user is on the side of the working class. What do you think?

Power in the darkness - and best wishes! Plutonium27 (talk) 18:51, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your suggestion! I've corrected it now.
This user is on the side of the working class.

Looks good. Happy to help any time. BTW this version is how the phrase would be rendered in everyday British English. It may possibly be that "on the side of" in this context is unfamiliar to our transatlantic comrades although, as far as I know, there is no difference in usage and "I'm on your side" etc is used there as it is here. But, should you hear otherwise, please let me know. Plutonium27 (talk) 23:24, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
