Deleterion of David Demola

Dear Vinay Gowda,

The subject is notable and featured on Christian networks. He has been accredited by Creflo Dollar and preaches to the 38th largest megachurch in the country as of 2017. Please do not mess with articles on prominent Christian leaders. May I have the original work for self-review and I will redo this article with sources for credibility? This will be redone neutrally and in an encyclopedic way.

Hey

The page Anil K Reji has been nominated for deletion. Kindly let me know what can be done to prevent the deletion.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anil_K_Reji

Valid sources and news articles have been included as references in the article. But it still has been nominated for deletion. Kindly assist me through the walkthrough process of preventing the deletion.

Thanks.

Repeated Reverting on article on "Samiksha Jaiswal".

Respected Sir/Madam,

Please tell why are you repeatedly reverting the article on Samiksha Jaiswal to #Redirect Zindagi Ki Mehek?

@Helpful14: As Barkeep49 mentioned in the edit summary that the subject not yet demonstrated to be notable per WP:NACTOR so please do not revert as it's WP:TOOSOON for this actress to have a separate article. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em)

Edits made in Ram Awana Page

hi, Thank you for your reply. Whatever changes I made, have video references on youtube or some other sites. Can I not add such references? as Ram Awana is an actor internet is providing only video references. Please suggest what can I do. User:Gazal288 (talk) Thank you, Gazal288

All that edits what i've made it's my working on my own bads. All that listed edits in "Revision history" i've made in draft mode.

Hello, could you help me? I can't fully understand if I can create and edit articles for people who ask me and offer some money or it is prohibited in Wikipedia? Thank you! Գարիկ Ավագյան (talk)

Page Review of Victor Mbarika

Greetings! Please the article Victor Mbarika has been reviewed and that is the reason why the COI code was removed and it is no more an orphan page since it is referenced in another wikipedia article (ICT University). I would be glad to have your comment. Thanks!

Gouri Kishan

Why did you move the page to a draft? The version of the page when it was deleted was this (version of the article re-created on 14:48, March 15, 2020). I have heavily expanded the page. All I did was move Gouri Kishan to Gouri G Kishan.

The page Gouri KIshan existed for some time, but after I moved the page, you immediately moved it to a draft.

Just wanted to tell you that the page created during the deletion discussion was only one line and that is why it was deleted. --TamilMirchi

Request for a new set of eyes

@GSS: is it okay if say new reviewers review Draft:Pascal Mouawad? Just wondering if it's possible! Probably a new mind would look at the additions and subtractions in a more positive light. Just a respectful request! Because for starters, the first reason you give for rejection of the article (reliable sources) doesn't really cut it. The subject of the article has been a notable celebrity gemologist for two decades and there're enough references in noteworthy media in which he's the subject of discussion. I think it's safe to please give other reviewers a chance to have a look at the article. I respectfully request that you please let a fresh mind have a fresh look at the article. Thank you!

Declined my article

Hi,

you have recently declined my draft article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Street_Lamp_Games Please let me know the changes I should do and the mistakes I did. This is my first article in Wikipedia

Request for help to improve the declined Draft

Hi GSS, Can you please explain on what needs to be added/modified to make this draft workable for resubmitting - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Sharath_Ravi The comment said, " Appear to have played some minor roles in major productions. Fails WP:NACTOR." He is an upcoming actor with good recognition from the Tamil language fans. It would be great if you can extend your support. Thanks in advance. GC

Wait a second, you're an Indian and you don't know about Premendra Mitra's Ghanada?!?

response to claim of paid editing

Hi there! No, I'm not being paid for my editing at all, nor do I have any financial interest in any of my Wikipedia activity. I do confess to profiting from my intellectual pleasure. I've been working on my page about Rosamond for awhile, ever since last year when I was shocked to see that she wasn't on here. I'm a big fan of Wikipedia and have similar concerns about bias and paid editing, so thank you for yours :)

New Pages Patrol newsletter January 2023

Hello GSS,

New Page Review queue December 2022
Backlog

The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.

2022 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone!

Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)

New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js

Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.

Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023

Hello GSS,

New Page Review queue April to June 2023

Backlog

Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.

Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.

Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.

You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.

Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

Reminders

  • Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
  • There is live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord and #wikimedia-npp connect on IRC.
  • Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
  • To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello GSS,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Reminders:

  • You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
  • Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
  • To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Hi, Thanks for your review. My article on Henry Braun was declined primarily because "they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject". But I have pointed to secondary sources like National Academy of Education, National Academy of Arts and Sciences, and New Meridian that do not just make passing mention, but has Henry Braun's full bio. I also included independent sources (like "American Statistical Association Fellows list" and "Complete list of fellows of American Educational Research Association") to prove Henry's fellow statuses and awards. So, pretty much everything I wrote about him can be verified from other sources some of whom seem to give significant coverage. Would you please point to any flaw in my argument? Or would you please let me know if you consider sources like National Academy of Education and National Academy of Arts and Sciences to be unimportant? Page mover granted

Hello, GSS. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Extraordinary Writ (talk) 17:14, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I noticed you have just rolled back all my edits on Sam Pepper, may I ask why?

There was a magnitude of sources included in my edits.

Regards

Triplefour (talk) 09:59, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For example, the infobox edits should not of been reversed, as they are objectively true, all that was edited was updated analytics using sources previously accepted for metrics. Triplefour (talk) 10:00, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The sites you used, such as YouTube and Twitter, aren't considered reliable. Please refer to WP:RS for better understanding on citing sources. For the updates in the infobox, you still need to provide reliable sources to support your changes. GSS 💬 10:08, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is invalid, the Twitter source was a link to the statement made by the company, as it was a statement on Twitter, so how is this not reliable.
YouTube sources are direct evidence of the travels undertaken, direct primary evidence.
If the YouTube sources are not valid, simply remove those. Why the need to undo all edits? There was 1 or 2 sentences added that use YouTube refs
Triplefour (talk) 10:11, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you just reverted the removal of multiple issues banner on Sanki King when those issues seem to have been already resolved years ago on the talk pages of the article and of SameStruggle. A similar banner was posted which was then removed after lengthy discussions, all present on the talk pages. What is the point of keeping the same banner posted? Thanks Maxdorx (talk) 10:49, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please disclose any potential conflict of interest (COI) you may have per WP:COI? It's quite surprising that you registered today and are suggesting the removal of maintenance tags from an article that was created by an undisclosed paid editor. As for the tags, they should remain as the article still requires significant cleanup to adhere to WP:NPOV. GSS 💬 10:54, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am simply going through the articles of all the top Pakistani artists and doing cleanup, expansion, with what little knowledge I have of Wiki. What does the registration date has to do with anything? I read these articles before registering, all of them have several issues and talk pages have the history behind the issues.
Surprised by your response because in the talk history of User:SameStruggle you are the one who brought up the paid editing issue in '19 and it seems that the user is the artist Sanki King himself who took a single paid editing job not for his own article but something else. SameStruggle has admitted on both talk pages that he is the artist himself and intends to not edit the article again and hasn't since. You are also tagged in the latest message from Sep 2023 on the article's talk page by the artist himself, seeking assistance for cleanup and expansion with new links. So there were no banners on the article post Sept 2023, 3 different editors cleaned up the article since 2019 but now suddenly there are multiple issues with the article, issues that have already been resolved? Please explain that. Maxdorx (talk) 11:35, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, It's not uncommon for undisclosed paid editors to pose as someone else or their client and then have the client confirm it, so I'm skeptical of this claim. The subject of the article has a history of hiring paid editors, and since the last attempt to remove the tag, no major neutral editor has cleaned the page. It appears to have been heavily edited by its creator. GSS 💬 13:56, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. I will do the cleanup and expansion and have pinged a senior editor on the article's talk page as well, been looking for art editors through the edit history of articles of renowned artists and found him on Damien Hirst's history. Will look for more senior editors to bring their attention to articles of important Pakistani artists that need cleanup and expansion, their guidance and inputs will be very helpful. Maxdorx (talk) 02:40, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have added a new tag to the banner of "unreliable sources", kindly point out those sources so they can be removed. Maxdorx (talk) 08:46, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
