Africa One

Hi Gianvito, I made the edit changes to AfricaOne because the previous notes were totally incorrect and as one of the founders of the company I deleted all the errors and inputed the correct information. Also, I made a note as to why I made the changes in the Edit Summary. Best regards, Charles

Hello, I'm G.scaringi. I noticed that you recently removed content from Africa One without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. How are things?

I saw you have been on here quite a while. To me it's useful and good to be helpful on the site but it's pretty easy to get into drama too! I don't even have 1000 edits and it seems to find me or almost anyone, for that matter. Maybe I'll have to ask you for help. Bleucheeses (talk) 10:38, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Bleucheeses: Hi! Well, yes I created my account a long ago but forgot it for a while. Now I am back on track! You have more edits than me, actually! But sure, feel free to write me anytime. Cheers! Gianvito Scaringi (talk) 10:45, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I am saying I should ask you for help. The site is full of drama, etc. Go ahead and peruse or read all of my edits, it doesn't take very long if you speed read. Bleucheeses (talk) 10:51, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for contributing this. As you are a longstanding autoconfirmed editor, you don't need to use the Articles for Creation service if you don't want. Most of the reviewers there are not very conversant with the requirements for journals (see Wikipedia:Notability (academic journals)) and articles are sometimes wrongly declined. As a side note, when editing talk pages it is usual to put comments at the bottom. Espresso Addict (talk) 16:35, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for May 31

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Zipingpu Dam, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Crust (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:13, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, G.scaringi. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 12:56, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice

Hi Geoscientific, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

Removing Entries from List of reviewers by subject

May I ask why you decided to remove entries from the list? I am asking about this edit.  Avalerion  V   17:55, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@AvalerionV: Sorry for that. Probably we were editing at the same time. After I added my entry, it was reverted and my entry was deleted. Now the same. I will re-add it making sure I do not affect the other entries. Geoscientific (talk) 18:06, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. :)  Avalerion  V   03:58, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wolfram Physics Project draft

I was actually looking for some info on the Wolfram Physics Project on Wikipedia and I ended up finding the declined draft. I went ahead and added some more citations to independent media sources as you suggested in the review and cleaned up the draft a bit. I'm not the original author, but I was wondering if you could re-review it now and see if it's good enough for mainspace. The project is definitely notable. It was all over the popular science press about a month ago.[1] I think if it gets moved to mainspace it will grow into a more comprehensive article before long. Kaldari (talk) 20:06, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind. Someone else reviewed it and also rejected it because they say it's not well developed enough. Sigh. Of course it's not well developed. It's just a draft. It won't get well developed until it's moved to mainspace and people can actual find it and edit it. Kaldari (talk) 21:43, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kaldari: Sorry to hear that. Geoscientific (talk) 19:31, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
