There is already a Gun Moll (film) which redirects to a 1975 film. It is also a common term that was used in the early 1900s. Was thinking it should probably be created as a disambiguation page to point to all three instead of having a redirect since it would be confusing. --CNMall41 (talk) 22:01, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
That seems reasonable to me User:CNMall41. Thanks. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:23, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Done. It is possible that someone may just change it to two different redirects for the films and delete the disambiguation but this was the best route in my opinion at this time. --CNMall41 (talk) 22:42, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

October 2020

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for accusing an editor of "slurring murdered victims of White supremacy and enforce punishments on those who point it out", after multiple warnings to stop accusing editors of stuff like that without clear evidence. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Floquenbeam (talk) 13:16, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

The statement I am blocked for is:

"User:Drmies noted an article I created that I finally took off my watchlist and stopped working on completely because Drmies, a Wikipedia administrator, insisted on changing the description of a man murdered for doing business with African Americans and supporting their right to vote from Radical Republican to Scalawag. Perhaps User:Floquenbeam can provide some kind of defense for editors who slur murdered victims of White supremacy and enforce punishments on those who point it out, but as far as I'm concerned these actions are beyond the pale. When we come across bias, racism, and bigotry on Wikipedia we must speak out against it. Am I now going to be exterminated from Wikipedia for pointing out an administrator's improper slurring of the murdered victim of White supremacy? Is it okay that we don't have an article on African American cinema? How many dishonest attacks and misrepresentations from Guy must I endure? Some of these same editors helped censor the Racial views of Joe Biden entry which is now completely protected in draft space from even editing, IN DRAFT SPACE, while we have lots and lots of other Racial views articles. But surely there is no bias here. And anyone claiming there is must be eliminated. Racism is a phenomenon of the right according to Guy and there was nothing socialist about the Nazis (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei). Might as well ban me and get it over with because I am going to continue to create lots of absolutely awful articles on these subjects and yell from the highest mountain top about the disgraceful and hurtful bigotry one must endure here. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:52, 14 October 2020 (UTC)" (Sorry not formatted)

I stand by it. Scalawag is a term with a long history as a slur. Wikipedia editors must be allowed to point out bigotry and call out those using slurs against article subjects, ESPECIALLY victims of White supremacy.

User:Floquenbeam's blocking action is as egregious as it is expected. Those who stand with the bias and bigotry here are as big a part of the problem as those engaging in it. Promoting or defending bigotry and bias is not okay.

Needless to say, it's problematic that Floquenbeam blocks an editor for a comment calling Floquenbeam out for HIS abusive threats in defense of abusive editors violating Wikipedia's most basic principles. But I take it as a great honor to highlight this corruption and expose the bigotry and bias that pervade Wikipedia. I will not stop talking about the problem and I will not stop creating articles about disdained, disciminated against, and slandered subjects. Do what you will. I will not be bullied into silence or inaction in the face of horrific bigotry and prejudice.FloridaArmy (talk) 13:42, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

FloridaArmy, how about you just stop the accusations of racism and bigotry against editors? You can state that Wikipedia has systemic bias (absolutely accurate) and that you are struggling to get articles approved in under-covered areas (a valid and unproblematic request for help) but asserting that the only reason for declines is bigotry will almost certainly lead to you being banned sooner or later, and I really don't think anyone wants that.
You have to go via AfC because your personal inclusion/ sourcing standards don't measure up. You've never accepted that, I get it, but that's what any independent onlooker sees in the record, and the wildly inappropriate invective when your drafts are declined only reinforces it.
You really are your own worst enemy here. Guy (help! - typo?) 15:39, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
I agree with Guy that you are your own worst enemy here. I think you do valuable work finding people who meet our notability guidelines who are from groups that are underrepresented (owing to systemic bias). That takes real work and I don't want to diminish that. However you're also comfortable with articles like this being put into mainspace. The community has indicated that they're not as comfortable with that. Given this you need to be ready for other editors to come in and do substantial work behind you, which is what Drmies did here. I'm loathe to criticize Drmies for spending what I am guessing is more time on this topic than you but I don't love his use of scalawag in this article. However, that kind of content disagreement is not, in my mind, a reason to then accuse Drmies of racism. Someone who wanted to defend white supremacy would not have built out your 1 sentence stub to this. Attacking people like Drmies is indeed evidence of you being your own worst enemy here. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 16:25, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Barkeep49, the word is in an attributed quote, and regardless of the linked article the primary dictionary definition is basically lovable rogue. It's been used in Parliament (see parliamentary language). It's possible that Drmies wasn't even aware of its negative connotation. Guy (help! - typo?) 17:00, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
This isn't the place to have it but in this context scalawag is a slur. It's qualtatively different in a US Southern Context than British parliament. And I'm sure Drmies, based on his own biographical details did know that which is why he attributed it in the first place rather than put it into Wikipedia's voice. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 17:05, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Let's be honest and clear about the history. Drmies changed the description of a man murdered by White supremacists from Radical Republican to Scalawag. It was pointed out that this bigoted slur was inappropriate diff. He restored it. It was objected to on the talk page. He restored it again. It was moved down in the article so better context and attribution could be given and he restored it again to the opening paragraph. Four times Drmies insisted that a man murdered by White supremacists for defending African American voters be called a Scalawag in the opening paragraph.

As discussed on the talk page I unwatched the article and let Drmies do what he wanted with the article after that point.

Drmies chimed in at the ANI discussion in a dishonest attempt to disparage disparaging me while I am expressly accussd of making false accusations of bigotry. I stand by my comments and the truth is in the article and talk page history.

I've been blocked by an admin and former arbitrator for pointing out the bigoted editing of another admin and former arbitrator in a discussion where I'm being accused of falsely pointing out bigotry. If insisting a man murdered by White supremacists be called a Scalawag in the entry's opening paragraph isn't bigoted then what is?

Let's not defend or make excuses for the indefensible. It's not okay to call someone murdered by White supremacists for trying to defend African Americans and their voting rights a Scalawag. It's not okay in Wikipedia's voice, it's not okay in Mother Theresa's voice, it's not okay.

Bigotry is wrong and those who aid and abet bigots and the language they use are in the wrong. I attempted repeatedly to contextualize the slur and compromise but Drmies insisted on having his way and he's an admin so I let him have it. Now I'm blocked for pointing out how abusive this kind of bigotry is. It's bigotry. Calling murdered victims of White supremacists Scalawags is bigotry. End of story. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:23, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

FA, attributing the kinds of motives and intent that you just did to an editor is not OK. We have an extensive dispute resolution page for a reason. That's the way to solve this. Not to make this about individuals. If you can't make that distinction - be hard on content, nice to people - that is going to be an ongoing problem. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 17:27, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
I haven't said anything about Drmies motives in insisting a slur be used to describe the murder victim of White supremacists. But the language is bigoted. And bigotry is not okay. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:33, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Huge collection of drafts

Hi FloridaArmy,

I am putting a message here in response to what you said at WP:REFUND. You feel that time is being wasted by having to ask for a restore a second time and then needing to explain how you will improve. What I look for from you is something actual to add to the draft, such as a reference. The idea being to actually improve the draft. Currently you are one of the biggest REFUND requestors. Another (?Abyssal) used to be a big refund requestor, but we persuaded them to move the drafts to their own user space, as other users don't actually help out with drafts. In any case they could also help out in userspace too if they wanted to. I am not sure about your editing restriction, but I suspect you can use your own userspace and submit to AFC when the page is ready. Then you can take as long as you like to work up to article standard. Personally I think 6 months is too short a time for draft retention, as not all have such a short attention span, or small a scope of work. Anyway you are in the company of TakuyaMurata who also has a lot of drafts running at a time. PS I think your block is unfair, and is slowing your valuable work here, but best to keep the complaints as complaints and not turn them into attacks. ...I hope we can keep collaborating! You find interesting subjects that I wouldn't otherwise ever learn about. You have a real knack for that. I have a pretty long to-do list of articles to investigate to write, but the ones you find are such good bits of history that the world needs to know about, that I'd usually rather just play around in whatever you've begun than start my own from scratch! I hope you don't mind if I add a little to some of your drafts while you're blocked. If you do mind, reply here if you are allowed, or just let me know when you get back. I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Lactarius psammicola. Thanks! Robert McClenon (talk) 03:03, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
This draft does not really contain enough information for even a stub article. Can it be expanded by adding at least links to the genus and either the family or the order? Robert McClenon (talk) 03:04, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

I added another reference from Google Books and made the draft live. I will leave the categories and project assessment tagging up to you. Also, Spencer Williams looks like a good candidate for cleanup. Could use filmography and discography added. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:57, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
Thabks User:CNMall41. The Spencer Williams article is on the musician. I think it should be a dab page or on the actor and director because I think they are more famous. I will check to see if I didn't pipe the link properly. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:10, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
