Emojiidays 63

I have a question! How can I make my own article, and how can I volunteer to help at Wikipedia? Emojiidays63 (talk) 17:14, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Emojiidays63: Really you can't be a user here at the same time trying to have yourself page created, it can lead to blocks by some admins. You can check WP Autobiography there are policies avoiding creating autobiography because it is an WP COI. If may be an article about you already exists, you can help by improving it as it is acceptable, check out this WP already have an article about you. If you're notably and already verifiable with reliable source discussed about you, definitely a page about you will soon or later be created, check this out Article about you. you know Wikipedia accept biographies not autographies, So it is discouraged to do that. I meant to create an article about a topic Wikipedia does not have yet, and It is not about myself -emojidays63🥰 Emojiidays63 (talk) 20:10, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

alright @Emojiidays63: you mean to start a new page; that's very easy but firstly I will like you to visit WP: Teahouse and ask some questions. you can check How to create a page and as a new user you can see First article it gives you many hints on how to start and don't forget the Notability as first require then the Reliable sources is the second major requires, the living people are very had and different to create try this one WP BLP there are guidelines it can help. This AFC check it out and see but if can't do it then I'll advice you to use the Article wizard to start. Now all what you will do is to read all those instructions and after that, then search for the existing of the article if does not, the red links there is where you will tab and it will show you creations space and you're good to go. @Nnadigoodluck:. Thanks for the comments. I have known that newspaper in Jos for long that's why I decided to see its creation. Much regards. (F5pillar---Let's talk🖋📩) 10:11, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
F5pillar, per your discussions with Celestina007 above, I'm sure you're indirectly referring to me. No-one is trying to use their rights to punish you or destroy the articles you create. If you create notable articles, for sure, it'll be reviewed without problems. What you'll do is to stay away from creating articles that are not notable and you won't have any problems. I'll enjoin you to rejoin the WikiProject Nigeria. You're a worthy editor and we won't afford to lose you. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 10:24, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nnadigoodluck:. No it wasn't you man, it Versace1608 I'm referring to bcuz this page Draft:Sam Nda-Isaiah you help to fix with some improvement there, but Versace just bang in it with (AFD) and then I referred him to move it in draft. (F5pillar---Let's talk🖋📩) 10:30, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
F5pillar, Oh, I guessed wrongly. Sam Nda-Isaiah should be notable, I've heard about him for sometime. Look for more reliable sources to support your claims. If you couldn't find any, please forget about the article. Before continuing, read WP:GNG and WP:RS again and again to be guided properly. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 10:41, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nnadigoodluck:. Thanks man. I like your advice you're such a barnstar. (F5pillar---Let's talk🖋📩) 11:04, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nnadigoodluck, the question I asked him on why he left Wiki-project Nigeria was just a spin off from what I actually intended to ask him. I’m very much indifferent to be honest. @F5pillar, In the end, if Versace1608 ”just bang in it with (AFD)” like you said, he did it probably because the article in question does meet AFD & as such he is just carrying out his duties. Versace is top notch! and Like NG said reading or re-reading gng, & rs isn’t a bad idea. Celestina007 (talk) 11:12, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nnadigoodluck: popular figures are not always notable and popularity is not synonymous with notability. I nominated the Sam Nda-Isaiah article for deletion because the sources were not independent of the subject and did not show him meeting the requirements outlined in WP:GNG and WP:POLITICIAN. @F5pillar: I'm not sure how much improvement you've made to the draft but if you believe the subject now passes our notability requirements, feel free to move the draft to mainspace.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 16:55, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Versace1608. I like you to check the sources if it's OK . (F5pillar---Let's talk🖋📩) 13:22, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Emir of Bida and Etsu Nupe

Hi, I noticed that Category:Emir of Bida, which is listed for renaming to Category:Emirs of Bida, is almost identical to Category:Etsu Nupe. You created both categories on 12 September. Would it make sense to upmerge Etsu Nupe into Emir of Bida? TSventon (talk) 13:08, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, @TSventon: Etsu nupe and emirs of Bida are of different positions, 'Etsu nupe' is local language meaning monarchy of Nupe as the highest rank in Nupe Kingdom then emirs of Bida is only meant for people who ruled Bida as example from the 1856 history comprising of four Nupe Kingdoms e.g Pategi Emirate from kwara, BassaNge kingdom from Kogi, Bida Emirate, Agaie Emirates and Lapai Emirate all from Niger State. Bida Emirate is the headquarters of Nupe kingdom but they can have their ruler of different from Etsu Nupe. Etsu can be replaced with some one from Lavun, Katcha and even from pategi kwara. So they are of different positions. If you can realizes the Emirs of Bida is a category under Etsu Nupe and Emirs of Bida is also Etsu Bida not Etsu Nupe. I that created them knows that before creating the categories. 'Respect' (F5pillar---/ 'Messager🖋📩) 16:11, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply, I asked the question because I hoped you would know more about the subject than I do.
Bida Emirate says The head of the state is the Etsu Nupe, considered the leader of the Nupe people, is that correct? (I checked the reference to African Research Review and couldn't find the information.) If so wouldn't "Emirs of Bida" be a subcategory of "Etsu Nupe", not the other way round? Also the seven emirs don't need to be individually included in both categories if one is a subcategory of the other.
Also, shouldn't Bida Emirate be part of "Emirs of Bida" category, rather than "Etsu Nupe" category? TSventon (talk) 08:57, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@TSventon: Periodically, I lived my whole life in the kingdom of Nupe people and have known 90% percent about them, I myself can speak their language, so Etsu Bida is different from Etsu Nupe, (Etsu Bida is called 'emir of bida', Estu Nupe is called; Monarchy of Nupe as the head of their traditional state. Why you insists in the reference is that for 4 decades the monarchy of Nupe comes from Bida Emirate mostly but can be selected from any other Nupe region belonging to one of the three Nupe ruling dynasty. Emirs of Bida (Estu Bida) can be differently selected from only Bida as only head of Bida and that has happened for about hundreds of years. So Etsu Nupe is different from Emirs of Bida as it only depends of Bida but Etsu Nupe is the head of Nupe in all regions and Emirs of Bida (Etsu Bida) ruled only in Bida but presently the new Estu Nupe is from Bida. (F5pillar---/ 'Messager🖋📩) 09:13, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please see WP:OVERLAPCAT. Both these categories currently contain the same seven biographies. Do you have Wp:Reliable sources that would enable you to create biographies on earlier Etsu Nupe who were not Etsu Bida, or vice versa? If not, we do not need both categories. – Fayenatic London 22:26, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Fayenatic london: I don't have any of it to create right now but I believed if you known much about them: history from 1775 'tsoede' (the African king) may be would get something, me suggesting is don't merge because they are of different titles and I can try my best in some time to create ones who are Etsu Bida (emirs of bida) not Etsu Nupe. But it is your choice man, you can renamed them into Etsu Nupe. 'Respect' (F5pillar---/ 'Messager🖋📩) 09:14, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that appears to be a good suggestion. An anon had already started Draft:Tsoede, which I have now expanded with initial citations. Other sources including WorldCat identify him as a "legendary character", so perhaps Wikipedia's article should do the same. – Fayenatic London 21:35, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Fayenatic london:. Woow that awesome, how did you get to start that, you're such a genius person, alright thanks for that. I will do best in it. Much regards (F5pillar---/ 'Messager🖋📩) 08:35, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you are installing some scripts incorrectly in your User:F5pillar/common.js, and thought I might make you aware:

importScript( 'User: Evad37 /MoveToDraft .js' ); // Backlink:[[User:Evad37/MoveToDraft]]
importScrip('User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js|via script');

Should instead be:

importScript('User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js'); // Backlink:[[User:Evad37/MoveToDraft]]

It might be easier to use a tool such as script installer to install your scripts without editing the JavaScript. — Yours, Berrely • TalkContribs 13:54, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Welcoming New Volunteers (25/06/2021)

We hereby want to officially welcome new volunteers who have recently joined the collaborative project and have volunteered to work in WP:NIGERIA. The arrival of new volunteers is often associated with the confusion of “what to do” on their part, it is then behoove of us to treat them with care, guide them, and protect them from the general pitfalls a new editor would most usually fall into. We are also admonished to clean up after them if they err and encourage them, most especially when they are genuine editors with potential to do good work not just for us, but for the community as a whole. Once more, we hereby thank all new editors who have volunteered to work here and hope they enjoy their stay here.

Requests for uncreated articles (24/1/2020)

Greetings & a great weekend to you all. It would be great if the (Requests for uncreated articles) section in our wiki project can be attended to & at least one article be created this weekend as some requests have been pending since 2016. I believe this would be pivotal to the encyclopedia as a whole & a means to get editors who have gone inactive to revive their Wikipedia activities.

Proposed deletion of Unbeatable Youth

Notice

The article Unbeatable Youth has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable film. Seems to fail WP:NFILM.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
