@Agof K.P.2: Why are you trying to make this my problem? I've only edited the article in the past I wasn't involved in your edit. - Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) - 10:46, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also it's not an error it's the text on the poster, and the title card, Subterranean Monster (地底怪獣, Chitei Kaijū) is Baragon's subtitle further
as for edit DTISC. as for communication — my point kinda stands. as for the title i literally gave 1 direct link explaining what is written on the poster 2 direct quote how this movie is called in japan letter by letter. but if wiki furigana article is too hard i can try to explain it abridged. every kanji have like 16+ spellings depending on the situation because they were adapted at different times of zhonhua history in waves. so not only kids can't read them, even adults don't know rare kanji. furigana is a reading aid it spells the HEROGLYPHIC kanji using harigana or katakana ALPHABETS. and then there are "proper nouns". and they have zero rules. to have a proper noun you just choose and pick pretty hieroglyphics that you like at will and then assign ANY random spelling you want to them. so the movie is called frankenstein tai baragon, but it is written in: kana (since loanworld) then VS kanji then random pretty kanji and separately they give a spelling guide. japanese scrip is vertical that's why it is to the side. and it has different colour to show that it is furigana. see also: akumajo dracula games. almost all of them have random kanji with english word in furigana, when it would be proper to use kana for that. 協奏曲 spelled "concerto" 円舞曲 spelled "minuet", yes in english --Agof K.P.2 (talk) 23:22, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ie this guy is called "Jason Statham" he isn't called "Jason steɪθəm Statham" the article isn't called that and people do not call him that to his face --Agof K.P.2 (talk) 23:26, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will discuss this problem further with you on the article's talk page. - Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) - 12:42, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Eiga-Kevin2, I noticed your post is time stamped "12:42, 1 April 2022" which is a little weird since that's still nearly 2 hours away and it was actually posted on "23:26, 31 March 2022". If this was an intentional whether as a joke or something else well as a one time thing I'm not going to comment further. However if this was a mistake, are you aware you can use four tildes to sign your posts ~~~~? Or if you only want to time stamp it you can use five tildes ~~~~~. See WP:Sig for more. There's rarely a good reason to manually time stamp your posts. Nil Einne (talk) 10:58, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Since I'm from New Zealand, I go by local time, and my clock said that it was 12:42 p.m. at the time. - Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) - 7:38, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Cast sections

Hi, I saw this that you restored the {{unreferenced section}} template. This is typically not needed for cast sections because the list of names is usually not contentious for released films. Inline citations for names are appropriate before a film gets released, but after the release, the names of the actors and their roles are easily verifiable everywhere. Would you be able to remove the template? Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 20:09, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Octopus

I'm want to restore the octopus image you deleted because it's not a point of contention for the GA reviewer. His point of contention was the purification ceremony image.Giantdevilfish (talk) 23:28, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I personally don't see why two fair-use images should be used in the Production section and why don't we use another image instead, one more commonly associated with the film? - Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 11:32, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Two fair use images are perfectly acceptable in regards to an article, it's the dreaded number three that seems to be an issue with most editors. There was even a discussion about the octopus and purification ceremony images back in 2014[[1]] and they deemed it to be ok. Granted I didn't upload the frankenstein image at that point so there was only two fair-use images. In regards to another image are you suggesting one featuring King Kong and Godzilla?Giantdevilfish (talk) 23:40, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Shin Ultraman sources

I changed the source on Shin Ultraman because it was warranted. The Toho Cinemas source was a primary source. WP:PSTS states that we should mostly use secondary sources, like the Variety source I added. Tho, it also states that primary and tertiary sources are also welcomed but to a lesser extent. I’d argue, to best avoid edit warring, that primary sources (like the Toho Cinemas source) should only be used if a reliable English source doesn’t exist. Keep in mind that the article is in English. Most of the readers that may check up on the sources, very likely, don’t speak/read Japanese and it seems a great majority of the sources in the article are Japanese. Lots of sources for Shin-U now exist that can replace some of the Japanese sources, like the runtime. Armegon (talk) 16:07, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Using secondary English sources may also expedite the article’s GA nomination, should it ever be nominated. Most likely, the reviewer will question why the article doesn’t use existing English sources over the Japanese ones. Armegon (talk) 16:09, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to use English sources but I've found myself citing the same two sites over and over again (Anime News Network and Crunchyroll). Thus, I tried to use other sources outside the Western web, which has helped me improve the page last year. Also, I have nominated it for GA already btw. Because the first time I did the critical response section was a mess and the '... of ... said "..."' isn't really allowed anymore. Now, I've fixed the section up now after a peer review and then at the peer reviewer's suggestion renominatied it for GA Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 8:19, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

I saw. The GA nom for Shin-U was polarizing. They told you to model the reception after Terminator 2 but Fury Road uses the same "A of B said C" structure they told you not to use yet Fury Road passed its GA nomination. Well, enough sources have been published in English thanks to Shin-U's international roll-up. Especially the critical reviews. I'll help you whenever I can. Armegon (talk) 16:27, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I just wasn't sure what to do with it at the time because many pages passed GA without the reviewer checking the rules around the critical response section. Thanks for helping me with the page recently btw I very much appreciate it. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 22:46, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Undefined sfn reference

Hi, in this edit to Eiji Tsuburaya filmography you used an sfn reference "Ragone 2014". Unfortunately you did not define the reference. Kaiju Collaboration

Hello Eiga-Kevin2, just wanna thank you for your work expanding the old kaiju articles such as Godzilla and the like. Considering how adept you are at this, I have a proposition for you. I have been working on a couple of articles on some of the kaiju and wanted to see if you are interested in expanding them with me. The first one I am working on so far is on Varan (via my separate userspace drafts), which is getting closer to completion but I think you could assist in that one. My goal is to get that and several other kaiju articles up to GA status or at least up to my standards of a well-rounded article. just feel free to send me a message on my talk page if you are interested. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:53, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Paleface Jack: Certainly! I would love to help you make this pages GA, I'll get started fixing up the kaiju pages with you at your suggestion when I have the time. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 04:29, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. I had some ideas for Varan, such as the missing citations and whatnot there are some sources listed on the Japanese wiki of Varan the Unbelievable which I have been trying to gather. You seem to have a lot more access to resources than I do, whereas I am building them from scratch (making a massive list of literary sources on Kaiju). Paleface Jack (talk) 15:30, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, its looking good so far! I've been collecting books for over a year now (I've already got publications like Ryfle's books, Ragone's book on Tsuburaya, Famous Monsters of Filmland issues, and Behind the Kaiju Curtain if you want more info from them referenced) and with help from my Japanese friend on Discord, we may be able to check, translate and reference more Japanese sources on your revision page. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 20:43, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
sounds good. you can always add information that you find that is not there and I will check it out and make sure its all up to snuff. I am pretty specific with my writing, being a writer and all. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:17, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The revision looks great and almost complete IMO, what do you want to move onto next? Because I'd personally like to collaborate with you on (and put my best work into) fixing up the kaiju at the top of the view chain: the Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah articles (in that order). (Also, I can't find Varan even mentioned in Behind the Kaiju Curtain.) Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 05:27, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well before we go about to the next project. I still am looking at finding sources to cite the video game appearances and the toy releases. I have also been looking at the Japanese wikipiedia entry of the first film which gives some additional literary sources, and also looking at Toho Kingdom's entry on Varan which tells of additional literary sources in their background and trivia section (thats how I found out about the poisonous spines ability). I got everything from the Japanese Wikipiedia entry all transferred and the above mentions issues are pretty much all that is needed to be done. After that I have another userspace draft where I have been working on Megalon so that will be the next one. Paleface Jack (talk) 19:12, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not really great at citing video games and toys either sorry, as there are only a few reliable sources for those. However, I do find the Godzilla Store is a nice reliable source which we could cite. In the meantime, I'll keep trying to find other reliable sources online and will either post them here or add them to the Varan revision. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 20:43, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In case you are curious, here is the link to the japanese article: https://ja-m-wikipedia-org.translate.goog/?_x_tr_sl=ja&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_hist=true#%E3%80%8E%E3%82%B4%E3%82%B8%E3%83%A9%E5%AF%BE%E3%83%A1%E3%82%AC%E3%83%AD%E3%80%8F%E3%81%AE%E3%83%A1%E3%82%AC%E3%83%AD Paleface Jack (talk) 15:26, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's okay. I am not good at those kinds of sources either. My experience working on the Leatherface article for over a year kind helped a little bit. My best bet for the video games is either revies or the game manual though those can be pretty tricky to track down. I consider this sort of a learning experance considering these characters are all Japanese so research into reliable sources can be a little tricky.--Paleface Jack (talk) 21:49, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

K. Do, you think we should add all the details to the page now? It all looks fine to me, expect I think an image like this one of Ken Kuronuma and Nakajima shaking hands instead of your proposed concept art file in the "Development and design" section. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 03:49, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

When I get enough energy I will transfer it, I have a number of images I think work well.--Paleface Jack (talk) 22:44, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe a behind-the-scenes photo of the design. I will leave that up to you.--Paleface Jack (talk) 23:18, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I'll add one or two soon. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 23:20, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The article is looking good. i made some minor adjustments. (the first image and the one on the flying prop are the best). For the Megalon article its gonna be a little tricky cause he is featured so extensively in video games and the like. Megalon also has a pretty big power set so we will see how that all comes together. I will start looking at the japanese wikipiedia version of Godzilla vs. Megalon, those versions of the english article always seem to be a wealth of potential sources in addition to wikizilla with some of the sources they cite. Paleface Jack (talk) 15:11, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, Wikizilla would probably be the most useful for all that info IMO. I've been an editor on that site for a while as well and could ask some of my fellow collaborators for some help on this Megalon page if we need it. In the mean time, I may be fixing up your revision of the page all of today. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 21:00, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
sounds good. I was doing bits here and there when my work breaks allowed me to. Thursday will be more major edits for me so I will do some revisions up till and try to find some way of citing those pesky video games that were only released in Japan. Then see about working on Megalon. Paleface Jack (talk) 04:37, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Megalon and other Kaiju edits

Hey Kevin, just wanted to give you a heads up and let you know that I have been working on the Megalon article a lot lately. Still needs a lot of work but its really shaping up. Anyways I saw you recently been editing an article on the Rhedosaurus and I can help work on that article to some capacity. I have been thinking on the article for Godzilla and just the VAST scope of it, and was contemplating various ideas on how I would ever tackle it (I don't want it to turn into another Leatherface article cause that one took several years on and off). Anyways keep up the good work! Paleface Jack (talk) 16:20, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just a little small update, I did a brief literary search for sources to add to the Rhedosaurus article and found about 32 different books that can possibly be cited. I might add these into the article today or this week so I will keep you posted. Paleface Jack (talk) 18:37, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. sounds great! I've got a lot on my plate at the moment, but will help you out with the Megalon revision when I have the time. As for Rhedo's page please feel free to add whatever reliable sources you'd like in the meantime, I'll also do a bit of work on that when I've got the time this week and hopfully we can move onto Godzilla's page once we are both happy with what's on those pages. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 21:03, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries my friend. I have a lot of projects and stuff like that too so I have been splicing my time and whatnot. As for old Rhedo, wording is needing to be fine tuned with the bolder clames like him being the most influential monster (he is one of them). My best advice on how to structure character articles is looking at others, I had to take inspiration and note on the whole citation and writing structure for my Leatherface article which is still waiting for GA review but you can take a look at that one if you are trying to figure out character article structure. I took the courtesy of taking the Rhedo article and putting it into the Varan userspace for further tuning. As for Megalon, it seems to be a bit bigger than I thought it would be so I might take a breather from that to think about how to go about finishing it. "Important foreign film"

Regarding these edits [2], there's some misinterpretation. I checked the Ryfle/Godziszewski source and this is the original source that they're citing. Only one journalist is saying this, so it doesn't belong in the lead since this is not the general consensus. Also, the writer is talking about Godzilla, King of the Monsters!, not Godzilla (1954 film). I already added the material to the former article, see Legacy section. Armegon (talk) 17:45, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Shin Ultraman

The article Shin Ultraman you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Shin Ultraman for comments about the article, and Talk:Shin Ultraman/GA2 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Adamstom.97 -- Adamstom.97 (talk) 22:03, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the great work on Shin Ultraman! I've added Template:Interlanguage link to several ja links in the article. Red links encourage other Wikipedians to create the missing articles, and if/when they are created Cewbot automatically removes this template after it detects the articles on English Wikipedia--converting {{ill}} links to regular (blue) links. BorgQueen (talk) 23:29, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ty, I forgot to do that. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 01:45, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations, Eiga-Kevin2! The list you nominated, Eiji Tsuburaya filmography, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best lists on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured list. Keep up the great work! Cheers, PresN (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:25, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Need Help

Hi! Was wondering can you have a look/do some cleanup at Godzilla_(franchise)#Box_office_performance. That was mostly if not all edited by User:Maestro2016 who is now banned. This goes back as far as July 2018 according to the edit logs [3]. Timur9008 (talk) 23:58, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing! I'll happily give it a try when I have the time. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 03:51, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Timur9008 (talk) 10:23, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is it ok if I remove that section from the article? Given its User:Maestro2016 work and been unchecked for so long. Timur9008 (talk) 17:05, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

G-1.0 on WikiProject Film

I published the post. I pinged you but in case it didn't work, here it is. Armegon (talk) 01:45, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the post from WikiProject Film. Maybe I'm being impatient, but no one's responded to it and the way you revised the edit is good enough for me. So I don't see how outside opinions can make it better than it is. Armegon (talk) 20:37, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Btw, I was just making a major edit to the page and then went to publish it to find that my edit had conflicted with another's again. Was that you? Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 20:45, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's possible? This is the edit I made to G-1.0 today. The conflict editing thing happens, if I understand it correctly, when two editors are either editing the article at the same time or trying to save their edits coincidentally at the same time. I honestly don't know for sure how it works, but when it happens to me I try again a few seconds later. Armegon (talk) 21:58, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. About that edit, Ando didn't really outright dispute that claim, he was just acknowledging that theory from social media and mentioning his hypotheses that it is a Godzilla project based on Yamazaki's statement. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 22:05, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An encyclopedia should use prose

Please note WP:PROSE. An encyclopedia should use prose. There has been a long standing consensus against using tables listing critics in film articles (even though some TV, Games, or Music articles do this). Please do not add tables to the Reception response section of film articles.

Instead please try to choose from the most notable critics and select short comments from their reviews about the actual substance of the film, rather than just scores in a table. -- 109.76.138.72 (talk) 19:48, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources

Rotten Tomatoes is a film aggregator. It's not a reliable source for biographical information. See, for example, Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 411#RFC: Use of Rotten Tomatoes for biographical information. A reliable source for biographical information would be something like The New York Times. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 04:00, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Shigeo Tanaka.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Shigeo Tanaka.jpg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Seawolf35 T--C 20:22, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
