MARC MYSTERIO VANDALS

Hi, editors KWW and hell in a bucket are vandalizing the page on canadian artist Marc Mysterio. In comments KWW claims that the edits to page were "dubious" ive gone ahead and referenced them and some chump keeps reversing. Te inclusions of his wrestling career, charity single with flo rida and perez hilton, are all well sourced.

Trolls are active. Can u ensure these infos stay put and tell these guys to go away? Im amazed that these editors think im connected to this guy. He is a celebrity and if they dont like it leave wiki. Wats their motive?

Google marc mysterio and he is one of canadas best artists globally — Preceding unsigned comment added by Noobwiki416 (talkcontribs) 14:24, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Well, it's "bound to break on the slightest changes to VE itself", and the VE team has just completed and deployed a little rewrite to minimise the amount of code loaded on page load (it's currently small enough to be practically unnoticeable – yay!). Tami Erin vandal

64.85.243.121 (anonymous) keeps blanking the section I created. FreeRangeFrog deleted everything again and a whole lot more. Tami Erin is famous, so IMHO, BLPCRIME does not apply as a reason to blank the section. FreeRangeFrog really set the article back. Can you fix it? Checkingfax (talk) 23:05, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Removing the information about the arrest (not a conviction) is perfectly defensible under WP:BLP and cannot possibly be characterized accurately as vandalism. The subject of the article has been relatively unknown for decades. A citizen's arrest and the resulting tabloid-style coverage that died out within a few days is completely unworthy of inclusion in a BLP. I encourage both of you go study carefully just exactly what WP:VANDALISM means here on Wikipedia. To repeat, removing this gossipy, trivial content from a BLP is not vandalism. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:03, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
It's not defensible under BPLCRIM, if you read it carefully. Blanking sections without explanation is vandalism, IMHO Checkingfax (talk) 04:25, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

I feel very strongly that you are wrong in your interpretation of what vandalism is. Of course, the IP editor could have left an edit summary, but that is optional not mandatory. The IP editor could have discussed the matter on the talk page, but as a newbie, may not have known of that option. But you are experienced enough to know about talk pages. You failed to do so. Removal of content that a reasonable editor might think violates BLP policy is not vandalism. Period. End of story. If you think it is, make your case at WP:BLPN, where this matter is under discussion. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:47, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Discospinster gave the anonymous user four warnings, and the user failed to justify the deletions. BLPCRIME and WELLKNOWN#Public_figures both give cogent germane examples of posting such "trivial" information. You use that term a lot? It's rather insulting. Checkingfax (talk) 04:55, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
Let's agree to disagree on this issue, and leave this user talk page. Accordingly, I encourage you to make your case at WP:BLPN where I've stated my opinion, and at Talk:Tami Erin. Those are the appropriate places to continue this conversation. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:10, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Pierre Fabre

Hi, I was curious as to why my name page has been redirected to Pierre Fabre Laboratories- twice. I'm the cofounder of Lone Signal, I work as an editor in NYC, and, although I often wish I was related to the Pharmaceutical Fabres, I am not. Please let me know. email me at [email protected] cheers, Pierre — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.200.236.205 (talk) 03:53, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

It's because there is an existing article on Laboratoires Pierre Fabre which was founded by someone of that name. In order to have a separate article about yourself, you would have to show that you meet Wikipedia's notability criteria, which can be found at WP:Notability. I would suggest that you create a draft of the article somewhere (for example, if you created an account you could write it in your user space), or alternatively use the Articles for Creation wizard to request someone post it for you. ... discospinster talk 03:57, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, someone, I think the same person who made our page, had created a page with my name and basic info linked to the Lone Signal company page. It was wiped clean and replaced with a redirect by user Giantsnowman, I tried to erase the redirect, and now it's back. I don't see how linking people from Lone Signal to a corporation that has no relation is appropriate. Laboratoires Pierre Fabre is not a person. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.200.236.205 (talk) 04:00, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
According to the article's history, it was originally created as a redirect to the Laboratoires Pierre Fabre article. ... discospinster talk 04:04, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
Honestly, I'm no wikipedia expert, but the Pierre Fabre page was created in June, weeks before the first redirect shown in the history. Is it possible that the original page was deleted and this one created instead? I could ask the guy who created the lone signal page because he probably created the Pierre Fabre one as well. Whatever the problem is, I don't see how wikipedia users will be better served by a misleading page that, because of its link to my name in the Lone Signal article, gives the erroneous impression that I am the Pierre Fabre Laboratories guy -as opposed to the one sentence bio which was in there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.200.236.205 (talk) 04:16, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Munich Massacre

Hello, I noticed you reverted one of my previous edits of the article Munich Massacre. I wanted to say that the edit is constructive, because it does not change the meaning, form or information found in the text. Hi

I am currently working on this page - iDonate do not wish it to appear on Wikipedia as it currently is as the grammar is exceptionally poor (I did not create it!). They wish the content temporarily removed whilst it is tidied up. Apologies for not explaining this.

The page has just been created - it might be better if it deleted altogether until I am ready to publish, but I don't think I can do this!

If using link to talk:Aspies is against the rule, please help reinstate original Aspie page then

please reinstate word coinage cross-referencing Aspies usages of words, like Mundane to mainstream.

This page was a keep - please reinstate.

They were voted to keep, but was history shows instead redirected to Asperger syndrome.

If you check talk:asperger's syndrome, talk:Aspies and talk:Damon Matthew Wise you will see considerable discussion and discovery of evidence of pre-1999 references to such cultural lingo used by Aspies, and removing Aspie cultural. It should start coming out of talk pages and come into the public area.

Aspies around the world, who have now been using Aspies, Cousins, and Auties for around 20 years have no problem using their referenced lingo. It should not be classed as a subculture, to be hidden away, but identified as a unique cultural language and meaning.

If talk:Aspies is subculture and is not the right place, help cancel the redirection, reinstate Aspies article, and help edit from these diverse sources into a properly referenced compendium on Aspie culture, behaviour and lingo?

Please do the right thing and reinstate.

We are now, after 20 years talking, over 2000 references in google for aspies still out there, some of which are still existing pre-1999 redirection (when very few websites and groups are readily searchable.

It is no longer only used in closed groups and channels where Aspies hide from scorn and bullying by mundanes ... it is now an unique cultural identity, and thus ought to be in Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AspieNo1 (talkcontribs) 16:44, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Please reinstate userpage User:AspieNo1

Thanks in advance ... lets get these issues fixed - if we can get original Aspies article and contents in sources referenced in Talk:aspies good enough standard to get included in a proprly resourced article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AspieNo1 (talkcontribs) 17:15, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Seems we have a solution, if you can help and play the part ...

In that case undelete Aspies and Talk:Aspies temporarily and move content in full to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sociological_and_cultural_aspects_of_autism, and then we can relink the from Aspies to Sociological and cultural aspects of autism and then redirect Talk:Aspies to Talk:Sociological_and_cultural_aspects_of_autism, and I can get everyone else to work on merging Aspies and Talk: Aspies into that document?

Is this possible solution to your problems? Please have my userpage undeleted, then we can get to work? AspieNo1 (talk) 18:17, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Your user page only consisted of a post that someone else put there by accident instead of on your talk page, and then they removed it. So it was blank anyway.
As for the Aspies page, it was originally created as a redirect. If you think there should be a specific article for this (and not as part of the larger Asperger's Syndrome article), then you should try creating it in your user space at first so it won't be deleted. Please consult WP:Your first article for helpful tips about writing an article that keeps within Wikipedia's criteria. ... discospinster talk 20:48, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Taken from the first listing in 2004 - almost 6 years before redirection an early pre-dictionary definition existed in Aspies:

Abbreviation of the word aspergers as in aspergers syndrome. It is a colloquial term used within the autistic community for someone with aspergers syndrome.

This is similar to a dictionary definition, which after over 20 years of verbal used were documented and confirmed in first written (copy of a hand-out in 1994 and time-stamp in a word document in 1996 use as respective use and definition) all first developed by Damon Matthew Wise and recorded on AUTINET and Autismlist newsgroups both dated in 1995 use resemble thus:

1) Group noun, used in casual communication for self-referencing by people within a community of people with Asperger's and similar diagnosis in the autistic spectrum.(1996, Ireland) or ; 2) Abbreviation used by persons with Asperger's Syndrome or Asperger's Disorder, Tourettes, Savants, High-Functional Autism, PDD-NPS or a similar diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Disorder of themselves, and thus identifying membership of the greater community of people with Asperger's and related disorder type. (1994, Ireland)

Does that mean that contents of Talk:Aspies can be temporarily reinstated and contents added to Talk:Sociological_and_cultural_aspects_of_autism and then the redirect it and for Aspies to be correctly relocated to: Sociological_and_cultural_aspects_of_autism which handles partially language and cultural expression, so these can be reintegrated?

Death of Sammy Yatim

The anonymous editor editing from 99.242.16.28 quite likely needs to be blocked once again for persistent inappropriate edits to Death of Sammy Yatim. This editor just returned from a block imposed by you. Thanks for your time. ChakaKongLet's talk about it 01:27, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Yes, you are being disruptive by deleting content and replacing it with "LIES LIES LIES". If you have a concern about the article's content or bias, please take it up on the talk page. ... discospinster talk 15:46, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Updating of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Rocca

As a living biography I am most disturbed at how difficult it appears to be to remove biased and inaccurate material and I would welcome your input in addressing same.

On the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Morrison page we have tried to remove the inaccurate and libellious word ‘socialite’ to describe Ms. Rocca (in the Personal Life section) as well as removing the obvious inaccuracy of the statement that Ms. Rocca has only appeared on one album cover when the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Rocca page itself uses as images the two examples of said different album covers.

Will you please revert back to me as your earliest convenience

Yours

Johnny Rogan is a respected biographer. We don't just use subject-approved biographies. Your Van Morrison edits were reverted because they had no sources. Van Morrison is a Good Article so sources are a must. --NeilN talk to me 16:15, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Neil. May I enquire as to whether there is a less public forum in which to discuss this matter? - apologies for having to Talk like this but your link to Talk doesn't appear to permit the leaving of a message Z — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.111.101.114 (talk) 16:28, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Have a look at Wikipedia:Contact us - Subjects. Did you email that address? --NeilN talk to me 16:38, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Yes, this one [email protected]. Is that correct, Neil, and to whom should I address it as I haven't heard anything back as yet? If this is the correct way in which to proceed to discuss the validity of using just one biographer, apologies for taking up your time (this TALK page made very interesting reading, it's great to see how interactive WikiP is). Z

I've contacted an OTRS volunteer on your behalf. Hopefully you should hear something back. --NeilN talk to me 17:01, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

@discospinster - Sorry about having this play out on your talk page. Probably be better on the IP's. --NeilN talk to me 17:15, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

I don't mind, it makes me feel popular. :-) ... discospinster talk 17:16, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Barcelona Rentals Vacation

Hi discospinster: I am trying to make sure that the article I posted does not sound as an advertisement. Please this is my first and I want to do it good. Can you please help me to make sure it is right? thank you! Frante Camar (talk) 16:02, 24 August 2013 (UTC)Frante Camar

barcelona rentals vacation

It may not be an advertisement, but the article has to indicate how the company is notable. For example, have there been newspaper or magazine articles written about it, or has a travel web site talked about it in detail? ... discospinster talk 16:05, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Yes! Discospinster, as you said, a travel web site is talking about it in detail same as travelers as posting reviews, you can see it at: https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/4958560 ( it is a profile in famous airbnb.com about Luciana Kandes, Barcelona Rentals Vacation founder. Please help me to restore the article. thank you very much! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frante Camar (talkcontribs) 17:57, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

The link you provided (a brief listing confirming the place exists) does not come close to proving notability. As discospinster asked, have there been newspaper or magazine articles written about it? --NeilN talk to me 18:08, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for blocking that IP. I am glad I don't have to do any more reverts for at least another 12 hours. What do you think of this unblock request? Cathfolant (talk) 20:21, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

I think it's safe to say it will be declined. ... discospinster talk 20:22, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind that I've changed the block notice to reflect this. Cathfolant (talk) 16:35, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
Not at all, I just forgot to do that. Thanks, ... discospinster talk 16:37, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Would you mind explaining to me how this IP was disruptively editing? The only problems I could see were failure to cite sources and VisualEditor bugs messing up links; the additions seemed to be made in good faith. I'm not challenging you, just trying to understand. Cathfolant (talk) 16:20, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

The user has a habit of changing release dates to false ones (i.e. different from what the source says). When warned about it on the his/her page, the user ignores the warning and continues. It's also a long-standing problem with other anonymous users who may or may not be the same person. ... discospinster talk 16:30, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
I see, thanks. Cathfolant (talk) 16:34, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
