The article David A. Hirsch has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 22:19, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

David A. Hirsch deleted as a copyright violation

The article you created, David A. Hirsch has been deleted as a copyright violation. It significantly copied content from here and here. Please note that Wikipedia takes any form of copyright violation seriously, including close paraphrasing, plagiarism, and outright copyright infringement (which appears to be the case with this headshot you uploaded at Wikimedia Commons (it is clearly taken from this UBS site). Your comments over here seem to indicate you are just some random person who likes Hirsch and decided to make a page about him. Therefore, it is unlikely you own the copyright to the headshot, and unlikely you own the copyright to the text which was copied/closely paraphrased for use in the article.

If (as your comments indicated) this was your first Wikipedia page, I strongly recommend you head over to Wikipedia:Your first article and spend a bit of time learning the ropes. Then, once you've done all that, I recommend reviewing the links below. All of this will help you gain the understanding you need to contribute successfully here on Wikipedia.

Your article

Well, since the article was deleted I can't see what exact tags I put on it, but I apologize if they appeared to be too long. The basics of what I remember, however, are that you wrote it in a way promoting the individual. On Wikipedia we need to keep a neutral point of view so as to not promote any ideas over others. The individual you created the page on seemed notable to me, so you can recreate the article, though NOT with copyright violations. But, do so in a neutral tone. Otherwise you risk the article: a) being deleted; or b) edited substantially to remove opinionated content. Does this make sense? If not ask me or any other editor who seems to know what they are talking about. Thanks! ‡ Єl Cid, Єl Caɱ̩peador ᐐT₳LKᐬ 15:49, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your article

Hello! Thank you for your good faith attempts to improve your article. Someone has already tagged your article with issues, but I will still review it and do my best to rescue it if I can. I am busy lately, but I will try and look at it as soon as possible. Thanks! ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 13:31, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Tip: I removed some puffery, and excessive detail. My advice now would be to turn the section listing media appearances into prose. Instead of just listing them all, say something like Hirsch has appeared on x, x, x, x, and x. The format would work better that way. Further, mention his books instead of just listing them, show his notability in black and white. That's just my advice, thanks ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 15:01, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you greatly for your edits and insights. I will get to editing later this week.

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because your username, Dadsofamerica, does not meet our username policy. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have selected a new username that meets the username policy guidelines, which are summarized below.
Per the username policy, a username should represent an individual and should not: represent a group or organization; be promotional; be misleading (such as indicating possession of special user rights or being a ”Bot" account (unless approved for such purposes)); be offensive or otherwise disruptive. However, a username that contains the name of a organization and also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or “FoobarFan87" is allowed, though, among others, the guidance on conflict of interest and the policy of paid-contribution disclosure are relevant.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
Appeals: If, after reading the guide to appealing blocks you believe you were blocked in error, then you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice,. TheSandDoctor Talk 01:46, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
