User talk:Code Napoleon

A welcome from Sango123

Hello, Code Napoleon, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

P.S. Instructions on how to create a new portal can be found here. Good luck!

Portal:Culture of Indians

Hi there! I see you had some trouble creating the portal, so I have rewritten it from scratch for you. By analysing the portal's code and reading the link Sango123 provided above you should now be able to figure out a lot by yourself. But feel free to ask for help. Good luck! I saw your request for help on User talk:Jimbo Wales. Glad to see that someone has already stepped in. --Tony Sidaway 19:26, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship

I saw you added yourself to the Request For Adminship page. I have reverted this change, as I feel I should explain how the adminship process works. When a user is mature enough in the Wikipedia community (usually after a few months and a large number of edits, not to mention popularity amongst fellow users), they are typically elected as administrators. I admire your ambition, and have to admit that I was admin-itchy when I first arrived, but I think it would be in your best interest to wait a little while before requesting admin permissions. It was a full 6 months before I was nominated for adminship. I do not want to discourage you—in fact, just the opposite—so please, I beg you, stick around, rack up some edits, and participate in the community. Best of luck to you, and if you want to ask a question, don't hesitate to contact me. -Mysekurity 23:27, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who was the first adminship? -User:Code Napoleon
I don't understand what you're asking, so pardon me for requesting you re-phrase that, but would you mind? I'd love to help you get on the right track towards adminship, should you desire to become one, so just let me know. (Hint: you can attach a timestamp to your signature by signing with four tildes [~~~~]). -Mysekurity 23:33, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I mean who was the first one on Wikipedia? You know you are one. I tried to run as one. Code Napoleon 23:36, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not exactly sure, I was looking at it a little while ago, but keep in mind that Wikipedia has been running since 2001, and I'm sure there have been admins since then. Check out WP:SYSOP for more. Oh, and thanks for using the four tildes! I'm sorry I didn't make it clear before, but adding 3 tildes puts in your "signature" (which can be changed in your Preferences menu [available at the top of your screen]), 4 tildes adds your signature and a timestamp, automatically, and 5 tildes adds the timestamp only. This eliminates the need for you to type out your username each time, and is a nifty little shortcut. -Mysekurity 23:43, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Is English your first language? If not, you may want to join a Wikipedia in your native language. In any event, good luck and happy editing, Mysekurity 23:43, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And most definitely you shouldn't add joke nominations like you did (I mean "General Eisenhower" one). These actions border with vandalism and will not be tolerated. As for the first admin, check out Jimbo Wales (and an article about him). Conscious 05:15, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, Jimbo wasn't the first admin. That honor goes to AxelBoldt [1]. Eh, happy trolling. -Mysekurity 15:31, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected Sockpuppet

Warning
It is suspected that the users Code Napoleon, General Eisenhower and My Old Kentucky Home may be the same user with a penchant for creating duplicative articles about North American Native American cultures (please review their contributions). If you are creating articles without searching to see if a similar article already exists, please search first. Please do not take offense at this notice, if your contributions are in good faith, let us know. Having multiple accounts is still an issue. Feel free to ask other users for help if you need it. Welcome back

Welcome back. Hope you stay. Oh and I was also blocked from editing, too. -General Eisenhower 3:01 March 23, 2006 (UTC)

I'm up to it

My old age has weakened me. However, I'm up to the job. -President and General Eisenhower
