American men's ice hockey players
Make sure if you are adding this category to pages that you are removing them from American ice hockey players. An article can't be in both the subcat and parentcat. And another minor thing, is make sure the cats are in alphabetical order. -DJSasso (talk) 14:29, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Erin Barley-Maloney
The article Erin Barley-Maloney has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GNG with only WP:ROUTINE sources, mentions, and blogs. Professional women's leagues do not currently have presumed notability in WP:NHOCKEY for its players because it is inconsistently covered in the media and this player is a prime example why it is not included. She played 6 games in the NWHL and she gets four hits in Google news, two of which is the NY Rangers local blog that also covers the Riveters team. All four hits are merely mentions that she got injured, which could also qualify as WP:ONEEVENT. In a general search, all hits are of stats pages, pictures, lists, signings, etc. Nothing of non-routine, reliable and significantly in depth about the subject.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Hello WHOCKEY editors! The Women's Football/Soccer Task Force uses periodic newsletters to keep its members looped in on task force happenings and adopting the practice may serve useful for WP:WHOCKEY – let’s give it a try! If you have any feedback or ideas regarding the WP:WHOCKEY newsletter, please post on the news talk page. This newsletter is sourced and minimally altered from the WOSO April 2018 newsletter created by our own Hmlarson. Drawing further inspiration from WP:WOSO, work has begun on a few initiatives that will emphasize making more WHOCKEY links blue (similar to the work that WikiProject Women in Red does) and filling in the gaps within various league, team, and player, etc. articles. The hope is that the initiatives will make it easier for editors to find the pages and topics of most interest to them. Initiative pages are currently in the works and will be fully functional by the second week of the month. If you're interested in collaborating with others to make more links blue, once the initiatives are up and running, you’ll be able to sign up on an initiative page and help grow the lists, add potential references, resources, and create the articles. If there is a subject that you feel ought to have an initiative of it’s own, creating your own initiative is welcomed and encouraged.
WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NHOCKEY (which only includes players on women's national teams at the highest tier of IIHF competition)? Often times there is enough media coverage to meet WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. Be sure to tag the task force on the talk page of new articles with: {{WikiProject Women's sport|icehockey=yes}}
During the spotlight on diversity, editors are encouraged to celebrate the array of identities represented within the sport by improving or creating bio pages for ice hockey people of various cultures, ethnicities, heritages, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, gender identities, abilities, and other diverse characteristics. Next month kicks off the NOV-DEC-JAN spotlight on Collegiate Leagues!

Happy Spring WHOCKEY editors! After more than a year without international women’s ice hockey, we’re finally just a month away from the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship! The IIHF Worlds, in partnership with the Olympic Games, are the most watched annual women’s ice hockey tournaments in the world and spark more interest in the women’s game than any other events. We have a great opportunity to enrich the fan experience by offering up-to-date and informative articles about players, national teams, and other subjects related to the tournament. The only women's players included in WP:NHOCKEY are players who have competed in the Top Division of the World Championship – meaning a bevy of player bios will get to be created in the next month. Hungary is set to make its Top Division debut and Denmark is returning to the Top Division for the first time since 1992. What an exciting time to be editing! Articles related to the 2021 Worlds that are in need of creation, updates, or edits are collected at the National Teams & International Tournaments initiative page. Please add to the list if you find something in need of attention so we may collaborate and help one another in the coming weeks.

What a wild ride the 2020–21 season has been! Many leagues were able to complete the season despite the need for alternations and amendments with respect to COVID-19. Hearty congratulations to all of the league champions – 2020–21 is definitely one for the history books.
