Disambiguation link notification for August 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Boston Celtics, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kevin McHale. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Wikipedia does not allow user pages started by a corporation or business. This could get an editor banned from WikiProject. I just wanted to let you know. Thank you-RFD (talk) 20:35, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

I did not know therule. I'm only interested in making compliant contributions and when another Wikipedia editor tipped me off that I was in violation, I immediately deleted the promotional language from the page (which happened before I was blocked). I have no interest in making promotional edits and I pledge not to make any in the future.

Decline reason:

We need a list of all instances in which you, or your employer, has received payment for the edits you have made -- as required by the Terms of Use -- before we consider unblocking you. MER-C 12:25, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Blueberry Hill. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Swissôtel Nankai Osaka, you may have a conflict of interest. People with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, see the conflict of interest guideline and frequently asked questions for organizations. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, its competitors, or projects and products you or they are involved with;
  • instead, propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Thank you. DAJF (talk) 00:09, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to hotel articles....

...have been reverted. If you have changes you would like to implement on behalf of your clients, please make suggestions on article talk pages, per the instructions on WP:COI. Your edits have been entirely too promotional for Wikipedia, which is not a promotional medium. BMK (talk) 02:01, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I also do not see any declaration on the article talk pages or here or your user page of your client(s), as required by our terms of use. Putting "Disclosure: client" on the edits is not sufficient. Please provide full disclosure. BMK (talk) 02:04, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's not enough to disclose, you also have to write in a neutral, encyclopedic mannet, not like a PR flack or a prootional brochure, and you are clearly incapable of doing that. Please do not edit any articles directly, make suggestions on the talk page only. I will seek sanctions against you if you continue to edit directly. BMK (talk) 02:15, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your ArbCom request

If I were you I would probably withdraw your request there, as it isn't the proper venue to jump to. Consider it the supreme court of Wikipedia, you have skipped several lower courts which can help. Like WP:DR or WP:3O. Looking through your edits I think you may have a WP:BOOMERANG hit you in the head as your edits have been extremely promotional and not acceptable to Wikipedia standards. If you have questions please leave them here and I will do my best to answer them.McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 14:58, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mcmatter...thanks for the advice. I did what I was did because Ken threatened me with sanctions and I didn't want to get into an edit war with him. I'll gladly withdraw and take the case elsewhere if elsewhere is where the case should go. I'd rather work with him on his issue of concern (I did inadvertently write over a recent edit he did) and end this dispute. How does one withdraw? Blueberry Hill (talk) 15:12, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Add to the bottom of your statement at Arbcom that you wish to withdraw this request. Then hopefully someone will come and close it and remove it but it may take a bit. I doubt the case would be accepted anyway.McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 15:15, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough...thank you for your advice. Blueberry Hill (talk) 15:22, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to your comment at the ArbCom case that "...it's important for the community to know what is OK and what is not for paid editing", I would point you to our Conflict of interest guideline which says "Editors with a financial conflict of interest, including paid editors, are advised not to edit affected articles; they may suggest changes on the talk page and must disclose their COI." While that stops short of actually forbidding you to edit affected articles, it is the standard that most editors here are likely to hold you to. Things like correcting spelling and grammar and updating numbers already in the article are generally uncontroversial, but anything more and you are strongly advised to stick to the talk page. There is Template:Request edit which will help attract a responder to service any requests. SpinningSpark 16:58, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Speedy deletion nomination of Royal Monceau Raffles Paris

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ☆ Bri (talk) 13:55, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
