Nice one. Please clean up the rest of the band's articles! --Biker Biker (talk) 18:59, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey,thanks & I'll do as much as I can. :) Bloomgloom talk 06:48, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You might want to keep an eye on Costliestpants (talk · contribs) who just did a mass of drive-by genre changes. --Biker Biker (talk) 06:30, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yea,saw his random disruptive genre tampering.Alright,I'll keep an eye on him. Bloomgloom talk 07:58, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gratitude

Hey, awesome thanks for the barnstar! In solidarity :) Fylbecatulous talk 20:23, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, you have my support on the article. We were ok until someone added another genre to the infobox. ツ I mean, I've done my share of being gatekeeper over genre changes without discussion and without references; but last night I searched high and low and can't find anywhere, anything on Wiki that limits the number for the infobox. I'm not going anywhere; you and AiC are on my watchlist. All the best Fylbecatulous talk 12:21, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot mate & you don't have to thank for that barnstar, it was my pleasure. :) Bloomgloom talk 13:57, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Re your post on my page: Actually, I am still interested; but was alarmed at some of the unilateral, undiscussed changes being made to the article, which are bringing it to an unstable status for FA. I'm still thinking of linking our side discussion on genres on the Alternative Music wiki-project talk page to Alice's, but don't have time right now (because not having done so before, I have to figure out how). There was stuff on there that could be integrated into our thinking. It's also useful information regarding limiting genres to main categories. It's not a lost cause, by any means. Again, thanks to you as well. You've done a lot of good work the past few days on the article itself (as well as others relating to it). Fylbecatulous talk 16:37, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for October 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Alice in Chains, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heavy metal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Fixed the issue, thank you. Bloomgloom talk 14:09, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Metalvayne for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. Яehevkor 19:26, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So, now am I to be blocked without any explanation? I've written an article for Ahab's third studio album here which is awaiting review, after that I'd modify it further. And I've done a fair amount of contributions on the articles which were a bit unconstructive & missing citations as well as countering vandalism on Black Sabbath, Slayer and Europe. Bloomgloom talk 07:58, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So you're not denying it? There's really no excuse for sockpuppeting to avoid a topic ban. It shows your only intention was to violate it. And "good" work you have done since then, you could have just as easily done these edits with your old accounts, you weren't blocked. Instead you couldn't let genre edits go, and have shot yourself in the foot. The SPI page is the place to defend yourself though, not here. Яehevkor 10:01, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Are you a sock, cause I see you doing some good and I really don't want you to be,if you are we must work this out like form-able men, cause I have been where your at right now, there is no need for anybody to get cussed out or anything,I'm here to help.~Tailsman67~ 74.178.171.167 (talk) 22:32, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Topic ban evasion

Hi Metalwayne.

A tsunami of crap, this is the whole project of Jimbo. No other words. You are just the latest victim. --Mauro Lanari (talk) 23:04, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I dunno.. someone who consciously socked to avoid a topic ban is far from a "victim" in my eyes. Яehevkor 23:12, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah,it's hard to have too much sympathy for someone who knowingly broke rules time and time again. No victimizing here. Sergecross73 msg me 23:25, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That featured article had became bullshit with about 30% of no more updated sources. For the editcounters is fine just the add "dead link": a few seconds and go. Your so-called sockppupet instead has taken the trouble of the dirty job trying to replace the outdated sources. But in your inverted, perverse and evil meritocracy, he would be not good but bad for your stupid little rules from small children: you stop to look at only your formalisms, not the substance. --Mauro Lanari (talk) 19:06, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He didn't get blocked for any of those things, he got blocked for sockpuppetry both times, and the reason he resorted to that is because he was unanimously decided by 8+ people (Technically even he didn't oppose.) that he was constantly edit warring, POV pushing, and even adding homophobic vandalism to articles. Go look up his WP:ANI report if you want to know more about his "noble" efforts. His background isn't as innocent as the few times you've interacted with him... Sergecross73 msg me 19:21, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He can continue to edit the article (just not genres) when his well deserved block expires. Яehevkor 19:23, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In my idea of justice is infamous condemn someone and simultaneously take and keep his editorial contributions. If he is detrimental to the project, then you be consistent and revert all his edits. Do ut des, tertium non datur. Otherwise you are exploiters who use people as long as you need them. --Mauro Lanari (talk) 21:02, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure I follow. No one is exploiting him. He is neither paid nor required to be here. We are all volunteers here. Despite some good edits, he repeatedly ignored warnings and broke the rules. And he's not even banned forever anything, he just has to take a week off. Seems pretty straightforward and fair to me. Sergecross73 msg me 21:14, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's also worth noting that after the topic ban he was not blocked and was free (encouraged?) to pursue productive editing beyond genres. He did not do this. Яehevkor 21:22, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
