Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Frith van der Merwe, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Benoni (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Welcome and thank you

Hi Barry. Firstly thank you for your efforts in creating articles on South African subjects. We need more people like you adding content. I have looked at some of your drafts and while the subjects are notable the articles need some work. Firstly, make sure that you write a story, i.e. in a prose rather than a list format. What I found useful when starting out was to look at other pages too see how other people created the article. For instance Groote Schuur Hospital might give you an idea on how to write the Karl bremer article. Secondly, make sure your references are inline and don't use pages like blogs, facebook or wikipedia itself. Some pages that you might find useful are WP:YFA and WP:REFB. Also, there is a South African Wikipedia "group" consisting of others who edit South African articles on WP - feel free to ask questions at WP:ZA Let me know if I can help in any way. Greetings. For the hospital, don't put in homepages as sources. Eg. source #1. Try to add in newspaper articles, magazines, third party sources. Your current sources need a little improvement as they are mostly pdf versions of journals. Read WP:RS. EROS message 10:45, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Note

Hello Barry,
I have just tidied up your draft at Sarah Oates a bit. Please remember that countries generally should not be linked and that there is usually only one instance of a wikilink in an article (after the lead). Please see WP:OLINK for more information. Also punctuation goes before refs and no spaces should be left before a ref. Please leave a blank line before level 2 (==XXX==) headings. Thank you. Happy editing. Famousbirthdays.com as a source

Hi Barry Ne. I noticed that you recently used famousbirthdays.com as a source for information in a biography article, List of South African actors and actresses. Please note that there is general consensus that famousbirthdays.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). If you disagree, let's discuss it. Previous reviewer

Hello Barry, I was just wondering, who is this "previous reviewer" in your edit summary where you moved Draft:St Patrick’s Christian Brothers’ College, Kimberley to St Patrick’s Christian Brothers’ College, Kimberley ("Prevouis reviewer said I may")? I have looked at both the redirect and the article and it appears that you are the only editor of it and it doesn't have a talk page. --TheSandDoctor Talk 01:46, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Good day TheSandDoctor

I would like to explain my comment and maybe I express myself incorrectly. When User:Legacypac accepted my last article, he said I could create any new articles on my own. I understand that it could be understood that it is for this specific article.

My apologies

Barry, it appears no-one has provided you with a link to the simplified manual of style. Please read that page if you have not already done so and you should also find links to other style pages to assist you. Your submissions often contain formatting and style errors such as bolding of headings and use of it's instead of it is... avoid contractions like that or 'doesn't' 'wouldn't' etc. Also please use asterisks for bullet points...this will format a correctly-spaced list and you do not need to leave gaps in the markup. Further, your signature should contain a timestamp as well as your username. This is normally done by typing four tildes (~~~~) which will produce the full sig. automatically. Typing three produces just the username. If you have edited your sig., in 'preferences', to produce just your username please amend it so it adds the timestamp as well. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 05:47, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Good day Eagleash

I will attend to your request an execute it in future, thanks for letting me know

(Barry Ne (talk) 09:23, 18 June 2018 (UTC))[reply]

On looking at it again, I think the sig. is OK. I saw an instance previously where it didn't seem to render correctly, but others seem to be right. Eagleash (talk) 12:04, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
