Notice of discretionary sanctions

Hello. I'd like to inform you that your recent edits to Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs appeared to be disruptive and has been reverted. As this article is under discretionary sanctions, I have to inform you of such with the template below this message. Please read carefully the Arbitration decision before making further changes in this subject area. Thank you. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 01:33, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This message contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.

Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you that sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Information icon Hello, I'm William Harris. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Arabian wolf, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Negev desert

Hello 98.191.196.7 - you might note that I did not revert your edit, I simply alerted you to what has happened to it. You can add the State of Palestine if you can find a source that says the Negev - or a part of it - is in the State of Palestine. The trouble you will get is that there are a number of countries that do not observe the International recognition of the State of Palestine, and if that article is correct that would include the 5 "anglo-saxon" nations (UK, Canada, US, Australia and New Zealand), with this being the English-speaking Wikipedia!

Any changes you make need to WP:CITE expert WP:RELIABLE sources which other editors can WP:VERIFY. Read these (rather tedious) policies, apply them in your edits, and you will have no further troubles here on Wikipedia. Consider them your 3 key tools.
