    Proposed deletion of Solo chukwulobelu

    Notice

The article Solo chukwulobelu has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Praxidicae (talk) 12:14, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Praxidicae, thanks for the heads up. The article Solo Chukwulobelu has been referenced and the tag removed as the instructions directed. Warm regards and read you around! 2dmaxo (talk) 02:31, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

    Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:CMapIT

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:CMapIT requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://awpnetwork.com/2018/08/06/innovation-in-africa-will-thrive-whether-people-support-it-or-not-founder-of-cmapit-nigeria-speaks-to-the-awp-network/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. COI

A warning was in fact posted on the page, but there is no requirement to wait for a response in such obvious cases as this.

You said Some of our early focus was on road infrastructure, health and sanitation, while we also. You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:2dmaxo. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=2dmaxo|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article

    • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
    • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
    1. significant coverage in
    2. independent,
    3. multiple,
    4. reliable,
    5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability. Your text just told us what your company does, with nothing to show how it meets the notability criteria
    • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. In this case, most of the introduction was just quoting your boss promoting his company, about as far from an independent source as you can get
    • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
    • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

For legal reasons, we do not restore copyright violations.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also declare your COI as requested above Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:40, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Amaju Pinnick, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page University of Benin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

    ⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Amaju Pinnick.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

    2dmaxo (talk) 12:02, 9 October 2019 (UTC) {{In creation}}[reply]

    Notice

The article Abdul Aminu Mahmud has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant English-language coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. After your article was refunded I wasn’t the one who placed the second G11 on the article. I think it was BrownHairedGirl who did. I haven’t checked to see if the article is notable enough or not, although I’d do that now but even if it is it can still be G11 deleted if you don’t remove the promotional words and statements used throughout the article. Hello MurielMary, thanks for taking time out to review the article. If I may, I would like to present some pointers to the article creation.
    1. The subject was classified as requiring a Wikipedia page by September BLT Writing Contest which I took interest in and participated. I have also created 2 other articles for the subjects I selected therein.
    2. If you find the chance to go through article's history, it has gone through several edits to be fit for publication, which Celestina007 gracefully assisted me with.
    3. I am at a loss on which direction to head with regards to the article as other sources cited was advised to be removed, which was done.

    Any advise is welcomed. Regards! 2dmaxo (talk) 00:03, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Have you come across what WP:OR entails? It basically means you creating your own theory having made certain observations & turning it into a Wikipedia article or writing an article from your own knowledge/what you believe to be “true” , a practice we do not tolerate here as it makes verifiability next to impossible. The linked article seems like a lot of original research was included in it with a bit of WP:SYNTH. There is also a problem of the article being too promotional which could make it CSD-G11 speedy deleted. It is definitely an encyclopedic article with great potential but the named problems are a hindrance, could you work on those aspects? You can start by reading WP:NPOV and removing all the promotional material from the article. Furthermore, the article seems excessively detailed, I can appreciate why because I do understand the complexity of this topic but a non south east / south-south Nigerian & the world at large would find this ambiguous, you can try to summarize long statements in a more precise manner whilst making your point clearly. Celestina007 (talk) 22:24, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Celestina007, I trust you are doing great! Yes, I know what WP:OR, WP:NPOV and verifiability entails. If you have gone through the references, you would agree with me that "creating your own theory having made certain observations" and "writing an article from your own knowledge/what you believe to be “true” " is not the proper terms to address this effort. Nigeria is sub-divided into 6 political zones and the article is about the apprentice system originated in a particular zone, not throughout Nigeria. The references excludes any instance of original research, and the content of the article specifically dealt with the subject, so I am at a loss where the promotional aspect comes from. Since you are familiar with the subject, I avoided the usage of Robert Neuwirth's TedX talks on the subject (that is not to say another editor would not include it in the future given our collaborative platform). I can only suggest you look at it again as the subject is originated from only a specific geo-political zone in Nigeria, and thus named and referred to as such, and it is encyclopedic due to the curiosity it continues to generate outside this platform. Regards! 2dmaxo (talk) 23:40, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I’m not sure what you are saying but you need to re-read my response to you. I said the article was overly detailed & those who aren’t the (south east) Igbo people of Nigeria might get confused as the article is excessively detailed and somewhat confusing. As per the Original research, what I’m saying is basically having cross referenced the sources you provided in the article, some of them do not cover or discuss some of the things you wrote in the article. Those things you wrote in the article without the backing of reliable sources are called original research. It’s as simple as that. I also said trim your article and remove promotional statements from the article. Read WP:PROMO & what Wikipedia is WP:NOT. Celestina007 (talk) 00:09, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Kindly re-read mine to understand what I was saying as I was responding to your initial response. I have included the creation tag in the article so I can work on the references by citing the {rp} to each of them. 2dmaxo (talk) 00:19, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you could a moment to view Wikipedia:WikiProject_Nigeria/Nigerian_sources you shall discover that the references used for the article are mostly included in the list. The list was recently created and you may have missed it altogether - but as it is, it will be a lifesaver for Nigerian wikipedians to author on more local subjects.
