Recommendations

“It's been my pleasure to work with Tony in various capacities during my tenure with the United Nations. Tony is rare, in that he knows the arcane but important realm of international organizations like the back of his hand. He knows which organizations do what, and how to explain it in plain English. He also has a strong grip on a range of foreign affairs issues more broadly. He's a talented individual who can bring a lot to the table at any organization.” -- Will Davis, Executive Director, UN Information Center - Washington, DC, August 2011

“I have established a very positive electronic communication relationship with Tony through our common interest in the UN Secretary-General. His work on the website unsg.org covering the election of the UN Secretary-General was exceptional in terms of the detail and level of coverage that he provided. His coverage served as an important resource for those following the election and the implications of the process. He has clearly established himself as a key analyst of global leadership selection.” -- Kent Kille, Associate Professor, The College of Wooster, March 2007

“Tony has skills that go far beyond routine web design and computer trouble-shooting. He is, for example, an internationally recognized expert on the Secretary Generalship of the United Nations. But he helped with computer issues at my organization, CIRCLE, while he was a graduate student at the University of Maryland. He played that role with perfect dependability, competence, and good humor.” -- Peter Levine, Director, Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE), University of Maryland School of Public Policy, February 2007

“Tony's groundbreaking work at UNSG.org raised the profile of one of the world's most important decision-making exercises, the selection of the United Nations' secretary-general. Tony shined a professional, informed, and much needed light on what had been one of the most secretive processes in global governance. It was a great pleasure to work informally with Tony on this effort.” -- Keith Porter, Director of Communication and Outreach, The Stanley Foundation, February 2007

“Tony created a blog that quickly became the definitive online resource for tracking the Secretary-General selection process. The Canadian Mission to the UN and many other diplomats, journalists, academics, and UN-watchers relied on it, trusted it and used it regularly. He provided a real service to the UN community.” -- Michael Kovrig, Press and Public Affairs Officer, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, February 2007
