Smileypirate is my username in honour of the children's inflatable pirate sent me by a dear friend (a friend with an originality when it comes to the choosing of gifts).
The original Smileypirate now sits high up on a shelf in my office and watches me all day with his fixed yet myserious smile. Mona Lisa like, he surveys my working life, silently thinking thoughts known only to himself. He reminds me of the importance of not becoming over-inflated. He reminds me not to let anyone down. He reminds me not to take life too seriously.
To Smileypirate I dedicate my endevours in Wikipedia. They will be small, mainly clustered around my own interests - literature, Christian theology, theatre, poetry and the arts - but I hope they may help, in some small way, others to smile.
