The Rattanakosin Bicentennial (Thai: พระราชพิธีสมโภชกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ ๒๐๐ ปี, RTGS: Phrarachaphithi somphot krungrattanakosin songroipi, lit. 'Royal ceremonies of the Rattanakosin bicentennial') was a series of ceremonies, festivals, and observances that were celebrated on 6 April 1982, which commemorated the 200th anniversary of the foundation of, in 1782, the new Siamese capital of Rattanakosin, i.e. Bangkok, in Rama I.[1]
