Long running Australian television soap operas Neighbours and Home and Away have seen a tradition of actors turning to the music industry.
Success of the move varies. Kylie Minogue's post Neighbours music career has been long lasting. However lesser success was achieved by Natalie Imbruglia and "Jason Donovan and Craig McLachlan's singing careers have faded into obscurity". [1]
The traditional pathway involves first appearing in a soap opera and then turning to music. However Delta Goodrem joined Neighbours after releasing an unsuccessful single only to return to music after, successfully.[2]
