Latitude Learning LLC, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Latitude Consulting Group[1].
Latitude Learning developed, hosts and sells access to a learning management system (LMS), which delivers and manages Web-based e-learning courses and tracks student progress.

Corporate History

In 1995, Novations Learning Technologies was formed to provide e-learning and learning management solutions to Fortune 1000 companies. Its Learning Management System, called Ready Solutions LMS, was sold only as commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software to Fortune 1000 companies. In 2005 Latitude Learning was formed when the Latitude Consulting Group, Inc., led by CEO Jeff Walter, acquired Novations Learning Technologies.

In 2008, after enhancing the LMS, Latitude rechristened Ready Solutions LMS as LatitudeLearning.com [2]. Latitude launched LatitudeLearning.com, as an on-demand version of the LatitudeLearning.com open-source LMS, to a select group of clients.

In 2009, in order to better serve the entire training community, Latitude began offering Latitude Learning LMS exclusively on an open-source, on-demand basis.

Today over one million users, in thousands of organizations around the world, benefit from the LatitudeLearning.com open-source LMS.

LatitudeLearning.com

The flagship product, LatitudeLearning.com LMS, is a scalable, database-driven learning management system built with Microsoft’s .net and SQL Server. The product is a SCORM-compliant LMS solution and with nearly one million registered users is ranked in the top ten of training platforms.

In addition to the standard LMS features such as administration, documentation, tracking, and reporting of training programs, classroom and online events, e-learning programs, and training content, the LatitudeLearning.com LMS offers features leveraging Web 2.0 capabilities such as:

  • Integrated functionality (‘widgets’) to aid in the presentation of personalized training and performance information
  • RSS news feeds and audio/video casts
  • Blogs
  • Polls and surveys
  • Social and peer-to-peer networking forums

Awards

In 2006, Latitude was a finalist in the KM Promise Award from Knowledge Management World magazine.[3].
