I am Robert Small, a retired applied economist - That means marketer to most of you. I have an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an MBA from Columbia University with concentrations in marketing, finance and international business. I'm an expert in all types of statistical human research, mostly concentrating on shortfalls in execution and interpretation. I occasionally consult with Cleveland Clinic as a technical editor. I edit physics papers for fun and have been credited in published, peer reviewed articles. I am the co-author with my wife, Deborah Small, of two peer reviewed articles, one on Professional Nursing Practice model and the other on Just Culture.
My nom de plume comes from a Robert A. Heinlein novel, Puppet Masters, in which he stated "In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is in for a hell of a rough ride.”
I am making full disclosure that I am writing an article on wife, Deborah C. Small, RN (US & UK), MSN, DNP, NE-BC, FAAN, who is notable for developing a Nursing professional practice model that is used internationally, modifying this into a blended UK-US nursing model for Cleveland Clinic London, recruiting an international staff, and opening Cleveland Clinic London as well as being a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), recognizing her as one of the leading nurses in the world.
