Uchenna Harris Okonkwo
Uchenna Harris Okonkwo is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and youth entrepreneur advocate who hails from the town of Ojoto, Idemili South local government in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria.
He is currently an Honorable member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing the Idemili North / Idemili South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Early Life
Uchenna Harris Okonkwo was born on April 18th, 1986 in the industrial town of Aba in Abia State Nigeria to Clement & Mrs Chinyere Annie Okonkwo (who went on to be a Nigeria Senator) who both hail from Idemili South local government the town of Ojoto and Oba respectively.
He had his basic and secondary education in Nigeria and his tertiary education at the University of Toronto, Canada where he majored in Political Science and Philosophy and minored in professional writing and communication.
He is also an advanced diploma holder in Finance and Marketing from the Institute of Higher Learning attached to the University of Toronto.
Political Career
Having grown up with his father deeply involved in politics since the late 1980s, he developed a keen interest in governance, political education, interactions, and leadership as a means to making positive change and impacting lives. This led him to aspire to run for political office.
Additionally, during his time at the university ,he was involved in student council organisations, further shaping his passion for political involvement.
His initial venture into politics was in 2019 when he contested for a seat in the House of Representatives, running under the platform of the Social Democratic Party(SDP). Regrettably, he was not successful in that attempt. Undeterred, he decided to give it another try in 2023, this time representing the Labour Party. Fortunately, his perseverance paid off, and he emerged victorious in the election.
Personal Life
Uchenna Harris Okonkwo is from Anambra state, Nigeria.
He is a Christian and he is happily married with children.
