Tantric Sex

From Entropyaz - Sexo Tántrico

Tantra, which means net or secret in Sanskrit, is an ensemble of religious texts and rituals both buddhist and hinduist where god Shiva explains the philosohpy of tantric ritual, including the conscious practice of sex as a way to enhance human sensibility, and to focus all the energy in a mutual satisfaction.

The concept of male orgasm as top point of heterosexual coitus does not belong to concepts and practice of tantric sex (Yarin & Anders, 2006, quoted by Crooks & Baur, 2009). Margo Anand (1991) explains in his The Art of Sexual Ecstasy that the tantra was an ancient eastern pathway towards spiritual illumination, which began in India in about 5000 BC. The tantric philosophy states that an erotic love act between a god and a godess was the creator of the world. According to this point of view, sexual expression may become a form of spiritual meditation, and a pathway to a deep connexion (Kuriansky & Simonson, 2005, quoted by Crooks & Baur, 2009).

In tantric sex, the man learns how to control and delay his own orgasm, and to redirect sexual energy through his whole body as well as his partner's. Before coitus, the couple usually stimulate each other softly and erotically. When they are both ready to coitus, the woman guides penetration in a soft, relaxed way. The couple keeps the rithm to minimum initially, generating energy by soft inner moves, such as contractions of muscles surrounding the opening of the vagina. The couple then harmonizes breathing, and finds a common rithm for inhalation and exhalation while visualizes the warmth, ecstasy and enegy of genitalia traveling all over their bodies. The moves may grow stronger but stoping always to relax before male orgasm. The couple receives in a good way the sensations of intimacy and deep ecstasy while they look to one another and create a "deep heart relaxation" (Anand, 1991, quoted by Crooks & Baur, 2009).
