Background

The Italian Wine Podcast is a storytelling project dedicated to the Italian wine world; part of the Mamma Jumbo Shrimp brand of wine related content and books. New episodes are published each day of the week, 365 days a year.

Now in its 5th year, it began airing in March 2017 in the lead-up to Italian wine events; OperaWine[11] and Vinitaly. The Italian Wine Podcast aims to inform, educate, and entertain through engaging conversations with producers, experts, and personalities of the Italian and international wine scene. In 2019 IWP became a product of the Mamma Jumbo Shrimp, an umbrella brand which also encompasses books, maps, and videos, bringing together a global community of wine, food, and travel. Mamma Jumbo Shrimp purports to represent an ethos, taking big concepts and making them accessible in smaller bites. IWP[1] shows focus on business, food, travel, communications, science, diversity & inclusion in the wine sector, winery interviews and education.

  9. ^ Polly Hammond is a self-described black sheep marketer who spends her days desperately trying to drag traditional wine language, communication, and branding into the digital age. Her agency, 5forests, works with wineries around the world to help them embrace the profitable way to transform to digital, from strategy to social media to online sales. She also writes The Must Read, a widely read, mildly irreverent weekly newsletter about digital wine marketing. Polly has a deep and abiding love affair with Behavioural Economics, and her wine work is based on insights into all the crazy and irrational reasons consumers engage with brands; and she’s mad about pop culture and good stories, so any meeting is sure to have at least one Star Wars reference thrown in. https://areni.global/contributors/polly-hammond/
