My username is an homage to my ancestor, Henri Merton, a stage name of Richard Henry Oliver Sheward. He was a music hall artist who migrated to the fledgling BBC#1926_to_1939 Radio service. A noted animal mimic, he played a part in the Lord Dunsany BBC radio play The Use of Man^[1]

My Wikipedia life is centred around my interest in researching UK historical records - from genealogy to local history.
