Tara Jeanne Vallee (born 1972) is an American theatre director, choreographer and performer. She has been nominated for Helen Hayes Awards for Outstanding Choreography in a Musical for her work on The King and I (2013) The Producers (musical) (2015), Elf: The Musical (2018), and On The Town (2018), each at the Olney Theatre Center in Olney, Maryland.^[1] An additional Helen Hayes Awards nomination of Outstanding Resident Musical was received for Annie (2010) which she also choreographed at the Olney Theatre Center. She is also a two-time world tap champion having won Top Female soloist at the International Dance Organization World Tap Championships in 1194 and 1996.

Early life

Tara Jeanne Vallee was born and raised in Rochester, NY to William (Bill) Vallee and Barbara Mosakowski. She is the second of three girls with older sister Jennifer and younger sister Kate completing the family. She began dancing at the age of 2, and continued to train at Joyce Winters School of Dance, Clark Academy of Dance, and the Rochester City Ballet. Tara Jeanne graduated from Bishop Kearney High School, and attended the State University of New York at Oswego (SUNY Oswego) before moving to New York City to expand her professional career.

Performer

Tara Jeanne's career as a performer has spanned countless regional theatres as well as National and International tours. She performed in the National Touring companies of Footloose, The Musical, My Fair Lady, and The Music Man (musical) as well as the International tour of The Best of Webber and Broadway. Highlights of her regional theatre credits include shows such as Singin' in the Rain, 42nd Street, and White Christmas at such prestigous theatres as the Goodspeed Opera House and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
