My name is Gerardo Cruz, son of Gerardo Cruz, who is also the son of Gerardo Cruz. I am a high school student in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. I am a member of The Vanguard School class of 2021. Most of my contributions here will be related to articles about schools and Colorado, but most of all schools in Colorado.
My time on Wikipedia
When I was a small boy living in Hamilton, Georgia, one of my favorite hobbies was to read Wikipedia articles. I particularly liked the articles on organisms because I liked the IUCN Red List graphics. It would not be until I was nine until I began editing.
Chiicken (2012)
I have contributed to Wikipedia ever since I was nine with an account called Chiicken. With that account, I made three articles that were very quickly deleted (12:09 AM, Valley Rescue Mission Road and List of Yummy Stuff). I also made edits to some pages on dates (March 13, April 1, November 13) to write when books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series released. I remember being freaked out when List of Yummy Stuff was first marked for speedy deletion, and I still joke about it to this day; I find it particularly funny how bluntly the template told me the page was "unencyclopedic."
I used Chiicken for about a week before I forgot the password to the account and lost interest in editing Wikipedia. My edits using this account were 100% disruptive to the environment on Wikipedia, but looking back, my time with this account taught me how to work with Wikitext, which would aid me in my contributions a few years down the line.
ChizzleDonkey (2015–2017)
I became interested in editing Wikipedia again when I was eleven years old. This time, I understood the concept of the sandbox after I read about it on Chiicken's talk page, and that is where I made my first edit with my new account, ChizzleDonkey. Most of my non-sandbox-related edits were to pages on flags initially, because I always loved flags; in fact, gallery of sovereign state flags page on Wikipedia, together with the help of animating waving flags with Blender helped me to memorize all the flags of the nations of the world.
If you take a look at this account's contributions, you will see dozens of edits to its sandbox. This is because I did not understand the concept of the "Show preview" button or just didn't bother to use it. I did not develop a habit of using the button until I had a complaint about it on a wiki about Portal.
In addition to making edits to pages on flags, I also liked to make edits to pages on international relations. Most of those edits were to make maps for the pages. It was also at this time when I began to use talk pages, although very little. My final edits with this account were to some templates for Windows operating systems, but only the modification to the Windows 8 template remain. My edit to that template was also the last edit made with this account.
I abandoned this account because I disliked the username. I had made the username when I was in sixth grade for YouTube, but I had grown to cringe at it because of the way it sounds. The timing between my last edit with this account and the first one with my new account was about a week because I was on a roll with my contributions.
Geracruzcolusa (2018–Present)
I created my third account, Geracruzcolusa, so that my username on Wikipedia would match my username elsewhere on the Internet. The name itself is comprised of my name and location; "Gera" is the spelling of my short name, pronounced /ˈhɛdə/, "cruz" is my last name, "col" is short for Colorado, and "usa" is short for the United States. The pronunciation of the full username is [hɛɾəkɹ̠uzkəˈluːsə].
Initially, this account continued the trend set by ChizzleDonkey of making mostly minor edits to various pages. Later I would begin primarily making edits on school-related pages, and to The Vanguard School (Colorado) in particular because it is the school that I attend. I reworte the whole page and it is much better now.
I have made some pages on this account but the only one that still stands is Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8, which is where I went for sixth and seventh grade at Carson Middle School. I am making a series of navboxes for the leagues in CHSAA, and I have made about seventeen, but unfortunately, I have to update them every two years and right about now. It is a fun pet project though. I also made Template:School districts in Colorado even though the page still sucks.
