If you stick around for a while, these things tend to pile up. The longer I'm here, though, the less I value them, but I remember the thrill of my first few barnstars. I think that awards are crucial for newbies and can be instrumental in retaining editors. I list them here because it proves that if I can get this kind of recognition from my peers, so can anyone. We all like to be appreciated.

Thanks, Gandy, and also to Khazar2 and Gerda above. MLK's murder also has significance for Dr. Angelou; it happened on her birthday and inspired her to write Caged Bird. I'm happy that I was able to honor her in this way. I feel that I must re-create what I wrote on her article's talk page; see [1].

I'm mentoring a few out of the GA Recruitment Centre, so some of that work hasn't been published yet. | I truly appreciate your hard work, seven years it had me emotional because of what you have been dedicated and committed to, my wish is that you would keep your word and write a stand-alone article which is well deserving about Maya's I know why the caged bird sings and how Leon Derrick Youngblood SR, and his son , in fact they are the first father and son to go number one on billboard after collaborating on a song with Chris Brown's album Indigo..see Wikipedia under Indigo and song # 18 , since I know everything needs to be sourced...albeit Roccstar who is now one of the biggest music producers in the country and his father put together her incredible poems to music, the fact that people don't know this exists is mindboggling, I waited months to see if you would create the article and add the appropriate information as it is a travesty for this generation to have no clue that her poems have been put to rap and hip hop music,her influence on rap is huge,,, can you please I ask out of pure respect for Maya and her family and fans do the article Andrewigfall (talk) 19:41, 14 July 2019 (UTC) |

- @Hawkeye7, ah thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement. Writing about Wikipedia was just a natural outgrowth of my studies. Angelou featured prominently in my thesis, though, and I wrote at least one seminar paper about her. I'm hoping that I can continue "Wikipedia studies" soon.
