Laurence Boone, born (1969-05-15) May 15, 1969 (age 54), is a French economist specializing in macroeconomics, European politics and public finance. She is Chief Economists for OECD.

She was the Economic Advisor to the French President from July 2014 to March 2016, during the term of François Hollande.

Biography

From a family with far-off Irish origins, daughter of an engineer, Laurence Boone attended school in Notre-Dame-de-Sion, La Bruyère-Sainte-Cécile and École du Sacré-Cœur.^[1].

Boone is a graduate of Paris Nanterre University (DEA in modeling and quantitative analysis), the London Business School (PhD in Economics) and the University of Reading (Master of Econometrics).

Boone is the wife of Polytechnician Xavier Faure and mother of two children.

Career

Boone graduated from Paris Nanterre University with DEA in modeling and quantitative analysis, PhD in Economics. At Reading University, she earned a Master of Econometrics. Boone began her career as an analyst at Merrill Lynch Asset Management from 1995 to 1996. She then became a researcher at the Center for Prospective Studies and International Information (CEPII) from 1996 to 1998 and then as economist at the Economic Affairs Department of the OECD from 1998 to 2004. In 2004, she joined as chief economist.
